1. Well, I don't wish to fix them. I was thinking about it in a preventive way for the next ones. Not that stupid.

It disappears at times. When I touch the cable directly next to the plug, it may start working again.
  2. That hasn't got an easy fix unless you know how to solder, and that would imply opening the whole plug and then packing it again (after soldering the faulty cable tip) with some resin or hot-melt plastic. That is a pain in the arse. You could as well try to merge a plug in good condition with a part of its cable with the headphones you're missing (with its faulty plug removed, obvously). That's not easy either and sound quality can be affected.

    Summary: buy another pair.
  3. Chris have you looked into WP7 custom roms at all? I'm tempted to get a HTC Titan but unfortunately see that it won't see an official 7.8 update but there are unofficial roms for it. Know if its an easy job at all?
  4. Dont know anything about custom roms, there were only a few batches of Lumia 800s that had an open bootloader. The others are not hacked yet.

I did flash my phone a few times using 3rd party tools, afaik they just tap in to the normal flashing procedure.

Browsing XDA is your best bet if it comes to flashing phones.
  5. I think I'll try to pick up the phone first then tinker. Iphone is nice and all but everybody and their dogs gold fishes cousin has one. I fancy something different.
  6. We could as well rename this topic into "Gerard and his eternal seek for a phone that satisfies him for more than 3 months" haha
  7. I'm due a new phone in January as my San Francisco, which has done me well, is becoming a little bit of a nuisance. That new Nexus made by LG is interesting me - although I don't know if I'll be able to justify the price.

I must admit Gerard, that "everybody and their dogs gold fishes cousin has one" was quite funny. Had me laughing for a little while.

Check out the fourth post here. The process is pretty much the same as it is on the HD2, which is incredibly simple.
  9. Bookmarked for weekend readin. Thank you.

LG Nexus looks to be a mon starter if the rumours of 8GB of non expandable internal memory are to be believed.
  10. The iPad mini sure is pretty. Don't think I could take the smaller screen though. Would like a retina though.
  11. It's weird what Apple did today. For one thing, why the next gen iPad? It's too soon and it really hasn't changed that much from the previous generation. Only added lightning (big deal) and a better processor which doesn't really make that much of a difference in iOS.
As for the iPad mini, yes, it looks real sexy. But compared to competitors it's not good at all.
It's not like Apple to do this, seems like they rushed into it...
  12. iPad mini looks shite. Nexus for the win.

But the new iPad? I think a lot of stuff has been rushed because of this new dock connector thing, but then again it might not be.

I work on the electrical desk at Tesco and we thought that there would be a new iPad anytime soon. We sold out of the new iPad over one single busy weekend then we never got any in again except from some high valued iPad 2s for some strange reason. It's still the most purchased tablet out of them all.
