Chris have you looked into WP7 custom roms at all? I'm tempted to get a HTC Titan but unfortunately see that it won't see an official 7.8 update but there are unofficial roms for it. Know if its an easy job at all?
I think I'll try to pick up the phone first then tinker. Iphone is nice and all but everybody and their dogs gold fishes cousin has one. I fancy something different.
I'm due a new phone in January as my San Francisco, which has done me well, is becoming a little bit of a nuisance. That new Nexus made by LG is interesting me - although I don't know if I'll be able to justify the price.
I must admit Gerard, that "everybody and their dogs gold fishes cousin has one" was quite funny. Had me laughing for a little while.

Check out the fourth post here. The process is pretty much the same as it is on the HD2, which is incredibly simple.
It's weird what Apple did today. For one thing, why the next gen iPad? It's too soon and it really hasn't changed that much from the previous generation. Only added lightning (big deal) and a better processor which doesn't really make that much of a difference in iOS.
As for the iPad mini, yes, it looks real sexy. But compared to competitors it's not good at all.
It's not like Apple to do this, seems like they rushed into it...
But the new iPad? I think a lot of stuff has been rushed because of this new dock connector thing, but then again it might not be.
I work on the electrical desk at Tesco and we thought that there would be a new iPad anytime soon. We sold out of the new iPad over one single busy weekend then we never got any in again except from some high valued iPad 2s for some strange reason. It's still the most purchased tablet out of them all.
I think the mini is decent looking. Sure it's over priced but everything Apple is. £250 would have been nice. £100 is a lot over the Nexus 7 price but I bet it feels worth that much more in the hand. Plus actual tablet apps are brilliant. I may eventually try a Nexus 7 but I know I wouldn't enjoy it. Ipad 2 will do me until the next round of ipad announcements which will hopefully be 12 months away.
The big ipad refresh was always due when the new connector was announced. I would be mildly annoyed if I'd bought a 3 recently.
