1. already heard it in another topic(or this one ) thanx anyway

so, but yeah its not very clear ... hopefully it will be better in the next few months..
  2. this is cool.. from the wikipedia twelfth album site..

"Daniel Lanois recently appeared on RTE Radio, telling RTE Radio on June 4, 2008 saying the album should be ready to rock and roll in three to four weeks. "We're just finishing the vocals. Bono's in great form, singing fantastic," he says. Lanois adds this opinion of the album: "I think we can safely say it's one of the great, innovative records from U2."
  3. I posted this in the "What you hope the new album won't be topic". I'm too lazy to write anything new so:

Too much trance isn't good, but I really don't hope for another ATYCLB... I mean, they can make some very interesting music with some dance influences. Another album like ATYCLB or HTDAAB would be totally boring and not creative at all and that is not what U2 is about in my opninion. I hope that it will be as experimental as Pop was, or even more. I hope that it will shock all the people and critics because it isn't like anything they have ever heard before. I don't even care if most people won't like it, because often that means that it's way ahead of its time and people aren't ready for it, like Pop was. And that's what makes it so great. If they go on and try to copy their old albums like JT or ATYCLB, they could just stop right now because we all now that they can only make a worse album then.

Just wanted to say how I feel the new album should be

    posted by: m2

We're getting several emails tonight from U2.com regulars telling us about various threads in the Zootopia forums. Seems there's a lot of activity lately outside Hanover Quay, and fans are asking questions and getting information like this:

    * The band has one week of work left on the album.
    * Brian Eno told fans about a new song called 'Moment of Surrender' and said it's "the best thing" he's recorded with U2.
    * Sam O'Sullivan told fans the band is on a tight schedule because the album has to be ready for October.
    * Tour will start in March and will visit North America and Europe. (no idea on source)

So there you have it. Thx to our Zootopia friends (C, A, etc.) for sharing the news so we can share with our readers.

  5. Still...From U2place.com (via the Interference "new album" forum):

"U2place.com has the news. Sam again said that the album ought to be ready for October, meanwhile Edge says the tour starts in March in US (in Las Vegas) and continues in Europe.

    !!!!!!!

EDIT: Whoops. been posted already. Still...

I sense a spiritual album, not that that would be a surprise, this album just feels like it's gonna be going somewhere completely new, but familiar

    Interesting...they've never done that before.
  9. This quote from Daniel Lanois on RTE is kind of "hmmmm...."

"I think we can safely say it's one of the great, innovative records from U2."

So was the last record not innovative, or it was and they're trying to work up hype with this new one?

I wonder if it's some of both. There's a difference between just parting with the sound you had on the last album--which they seem to be doing--and making an album that can really stand alone as a truly "different" record from anything they've done before, i.e. Achtung Baby. I wonder if it is just some hyperbole from Lanois in trying to create some hype.

I guess we'll find out in October!
