Wrong argument once again. If Coldplay were the only band that has toured or were touring the world this times, their prices would be the only reference, and you actually couldn't tell if Europe was too cheap or USA too expensive. BUT there are tons of other bands with their same or even more reputation, demand and quality, and NONE of them are charging -as far as I know- more than 80-100 quids (make that euros, dollars, pounds, etc) for General Admittance tickets, whether it's an arena, stadium or whatever the venue. If they end up charging Genaro and his poor Los Angeles' fellas $200/GA ticket, I'll be very disappointed with Coldplay's management (even knowing that the venue holds a big part of the responsability on the tickets' price). $200 for the best seats in the house... well, it's expensive but I can accept it. But $200 for GA tix? C'mon.

    And of course it's a free choice - but I can be surprised/shocked by it, can't I?

you're soo right Sergio! we don't know though yet how much they'll charge but im comparing those 140-200 $ for Killers, DM, and Lady Gaga in 2009. who knows what'll happen next year! GA are the best spot at the Bowl cuz it's right in there soo i'll be a sacrifice i'm willing to make as fabian said! i agree in a way, it might be a lot but i have time to save up and have a bomb show even if i get middle stand seats i'll be a happy camper

Now, The Haque here I come!
  3. Most of those shows will not sell out. Coldplay's Viva la Vida Tour suffered badly from selling out tickets and I can see the same treatment happening with Mylo Xylotour.

And 4 German dates?! Maybe one of them will sell out, but I can't see all of them selling out.
  4. They will sell out all of those, maybe except Portugal and Leipzig. There will be second nights in Paris, Turin, The Hague, Munich and maybe Stockholm.

Also, I can't believe there ain't any Spanish date. I hope those aren't all the dates, otherwise a trip to Nice or Turin should be considered...
  5. Am I the only one who is alone in thinking Coldplay are poor live? With a lot of artists they seem to be much better live than they are in the studio, U2 case in point. Coldplay just don't cut it for me, not recently anyway. I have the 2003 DVD and they're much better in my opinion then, than they are now.

It's hard because I want to see them live etc but everytime I hear them...puts me off spending a fortune for the privilege.
  6. They aren't poor live, not at all in my opinion. I think you might have a point comparing them to their previous eras (their live shows between 1999 and 2004 were insanely good), but I wouldn't say they're poor. They're a good fun live, their connection with the audience is outstanding (bigger than U2's) and Chris Martin is a great frontman - although he's been lacking some vocal power since 2009 I reckon. Nevertheless, my advice is: don't let any videos or bootlegs put you down or hype you, and just attend a show of theirs. You'll have fun even if you have the cheapest ticket

  7. That is what puts me right off The band tend to sound great until he opens his mouth...

Since Springsteen is out of the question I'll see what's available for Coldplay.
  8. US dates just announced on their site,spring/summer 2012....Philly 07.05.12 and NJ 08.03.12 I will be attending....
  9. IMO,Coldplay are very solid live.I have seen them 3 times,2002 and 2005 at MSG in NYC.2008 in NJ.IMO,they were great. The 2 MSG shows were fantastic.

+1, that 2003 DVD is great but the Glastonbury and the Madrid show I saw were really weak imo. Especially Chris's voice is horrible live, at some moments.
Their show is based on the fireworks and stuff, while other bands also do that but also give a great musical performance.

Listen to the last album this afternoon and to be honest I really dislike it Its to much: '' oh oh oh oh'' and other stuff. Its all to easy for me, the first 2 albums were great X& Y was alright, Viva La Vida didnt impressed me at all and this album, Mylo Xyloto is just horrible (Especially Paradise, although I have to say it is really overplayed on the radio here)
But thats just my opinion, nothing wrong with opinions right
  12. Just got my tickets for standing in front of the stage for the 2012/09/16 Prague show. Yay
