1. It really is a great listen. Of course, this is coming a casual Coldplay fan. I'm sure that hardcore Coldplay fans would have something else to say about it.

The main thing I see is that this is, unfortunately, a rather polarizing CD. While I would recommend it to anybody, how much you enjoy it will ultimately depend on how much you enjoyed the new album, Mylo Xyloto. Over half of the tracks come from the new album, so if you hated it, you'll never be able to enjoy the CD to the fullest. There is also the case with CM's live voice. I've mentioned before that it is an acquired taste and it's taken me a while to get used to it and ultimately enjoy it.

There's also the short length of the setlist. For me, it wasn't a make or break criteria because I felt that it flowed like a festival set, but people coming into this expecting a 22 song set will feel like there's something missing.
  2. I didn't hate Mylo Xyloto at all, but it isn't among their best work for me. I understand and agree with half of the songs being from that album (how wouldn't I, after critizising 360 Tour for not having enough NLOTH songs, for example?), but let's give it the benefit of doubt first! First listen in a couple of minutes!
  3. So what songs are from where? So far I've figured out

    MX/HLH - Paris
    GPASUYF - Paris
    Princess of China - Paris
Viva - Glasto (the piano intro gave it away)
    Charlie - Paris
    Paradise - Paris

Us Against The World - Montreal
  4. I bet it would be easy to determine where the tracks come from in the film as opposed to the CD. Also, aside from the shorter piano intro for viva, I didn't notice the fact that the tracks are from different nights. If I didn't know any better, I might have said that all the tracks were from Paris.

I just got home too (in Adelaide), i agree, best show i've ever seen (never thought U2 would be beaten).

The opening of HLH and IMP was amazing, the fireworks, confetti etc i've never enjoyed a concert as much I made an effort not to watch any youtube clips of the tour so that everything was a suprise to me, and boy o boy was i suprised. Seeing the stadium light up with wrist bands Fuck im still buzzing from it all

  7. I'm really really happy I'll be able to see them here next year!

Maybe people and even theirselfs are tired of MX, but I'd kill myself if I missed this one...
  8. MAJOR SPOILERS AVOID AT ALL COSTS

if you guys liked the Live CD then you'll LOVE this movie! I just came back from the theatre, WOW it was so... COLORFUL. LOL my eyes are in pain from all those happy colors JK JK, but yes it was interesting, MX/Heaven as usual starts of FUCKING STRONG, then dies about halfway imo. Chris Martin has really gotten into the Bono habit of saying/singing over other peoples solos/instrumentals?

Ironically my favorite moment of the whole movie was Up in Flames, it was so SLOW, intimate, and stripped down, (and in black and white). The entire movie is MTV on acid as feared though But other than that you do get used to it... if that is a good thing.

Other highlight was Violet Hill from the small club show! WOW would have KILLED to have been there! Viva la Vida is a copy/paste from the Glasto broadcast but worse because it has those random 3d images present from the other songs (if you've seen the clips or movie you'll know what I mean).

Highlight 3 is RIHANNA BEING FUCKING BEAUTIFUL OMG. CAN I HAZ?

8/10 for the visuals (gah, MTV on acid )
7/10 audio cd (not in sound quality in regards to the overall mix I heard at the theatre and the flimsy setlist)

will totally buy this eventually! This is totally meant for the young people (I'm only 20 but feel old as hell watching this). I saw the Led Zeppelin film last month and they were total opposites, The Led Zeppelin film was purely on the music and this movie was, not. This film focused on the crowd interaction WHICH IS FINE, Chris even explicitly states halfway through that the audience are more important than them.

One last hilghlight and moving moment is when Will Champion talks about the hardships of being on the road :') it was really nice and segued well into the slow segment of Up in Flames <3
  9. Still rocking out to Charlie Brown.

15 plays since my first listen this afternoon.

  10. Charlie Brown is definitely one of the best moments, it sounds perfect <3

  11. Hahahaha spot on!!! It's so annoying ¬¬
