1. Pretty good match, England won 3-1 though. Didn't watch much of the 2nd half, but in the end Mexico had more opportunities, but just didn't counter.

Me too, it's played on Thursday though, if I'm correct.

  3. Just heard it indeed, good to know. Can watch it tomorrow, don't have time at Thursday.
  4. Champions league wasn't particularly boring, not as boring as people are making out. Someone said the most boring ever? Obviously don't remember the all Italian final of 2003. AC Milan vs. Juventus.

Fact of the matter is, Internazionale won the final and are rightly crowned European Champions. They've beaten Chelsea and Barcelona on their way to the final and I dare say when it mattered they could probably beat everyone else in the competition. Why? Because they know how to play football. Mourinho knows how to 'play' football.

Tactically there was not a lot wrong with Inter. They play to win football games and if that means having to sit back and contain the opposition for a while then so be it. Bayern had much more possession but it's their own fault for not being able to do more with it. They seemed very 1 dimensional out there, always feeding it to the right wing for Robben and hoping to get lucky form there. Mourinho and Inter knew very well that Bayerns only real constant threat would be Robben and they contained him almost perfectly.

Also credit to Inter's counterattacking football. They started the game in complete control but then reverted back to a more sit and wait approach once Bayern got into the game. When you have posession and are constantly attacking you feel that somethings got to give and when it takes a long period of time for anything to come from your attacking football you get frustrated and that's what Bayern seemed to do. Get a little frustrated that they couldn't break Inter down, they started playing a little more individually and not utilising their teammates effectively and ultimately Inter struck. Then it becomes a case of attack, attack, attack in order to equalise and Inter break and score, effectively game over.

Typical English refereeing in the game from Howard Webb and his merry men, allowing the game to flow. It's a shame when watching European competitions and the inconsistency between referees ruins a game. Some countries prodcue referees and football that has to be stopped everytime there is an incident, that's less the case over here in England and more Western European countries. It's nice to see a game benefit from play on and the player dealt with during a break in the play. Only thing Howard Webb got wrong in the final was booking Chivu after Robben dived in the first half.
  5. Mourinho to Real, finally official. Wonder what he will make of it. My guess is that Barca will grab the title again.

Will be fun. Even the best players and the so-called best coach and yet no price again

cool thanks for the update. I think he will be good, afterall... he is the 'special one'.

EDIT: yes i am mad, I was thinking of Barca...

    Im such a gorm
  8. Barça all the way.
  9. Cesc is the heartbeat of Arsenal. Barca doesn't need him, at least not in a couple of years.

But if has made up is mind, let him go. But not for less then 50 m. euro.
