Yesterday he was just unstopable! His acceleration just before the third goal was amazing Also supprised by FC Copenhagen, they are almost secure for a spot in the next round!!! And last but not least FC Twente did a GREAT job against Bremen, good to have such a strong Dutch team in the Champions League again

P.s. Too bad for him that he is born in Wales, no change to shine on a World Cup

He plays well in the league but his 2 games vs Inter have been some of the best ive seen. This time last year he couldnt even get a game.... now look at him, same with Alan Hutton

Ok, thanks for the info. Heard that Martin Jol (former Tottenham Manager, now ajax head coach) wanted to take him with him to Amsterdam. Too bad for them that didnt happen, now he's likely at least 3 times as expensive By the way, all of us predicted the games from yesterday totaly wrong!! I only had the draw between Milan and Madrid right

Who's in for a regular Champions League Toto Game??? We can start a topic and make it work if you are interested?

  3. Lol, if you're being serious, I'd be up for it. Get some league tables going for a bit of competition.
  4. Was thinking about what Coen said a few posts up. Who would be up for a regular prediction game? Suppose if we get a few people up for it then we could either start off in here or have a dedicated thread.

I think personally it'd be best to have a leader to keep it organised. Have a little league table going to add a competitive edge. Then I guess we could take an initial vote to see what we're predicting. Either:

    - Champions League games (3 month break between Dec/Feb and not regular)
    - Games in a single league (E.g. English Premiership, not really fair for the members outside UK)
    - Selection of games from major leagues (Requires a bit of research to find tasty fixtures)

I'd personally vote for predicting correct scores as opposed to home win, draw etc. This way we can have 3 points for a correct score, 1 point for correct outcome and 0 points for completely wrong prediction.

And in terms of the games we predict, I'd be more in favour of a selection of games across Europe, maybe 6 games plus an extra 4 picked from European/domestic cups played midweek.

Anyway, enough of what I think, what do you other football fans think?

sounds good im up for it
  6. iTim great that you took initiative here, realy like your proposal for a mixed European Competition Prediction Game. We should select 4 or 6 matches every week from the best known leauges; England, Spain, Italy, Germany as well as the Champions League and Europa League. Incidentaly we can add matches from Portugal, Scotland and Holland when there are interesting fixtures. I will be more than happy by picking the matches and posting everything in the right topic every week. Can you then keep up with the scores and rankings?? I dont care about the kind of predictions, scores is fine by me, but wont mind the Home - Away - Draw system either. Hopefully enough people will join us here....
  7. Yeah let's draw some rules and open a new topic. Would be fun.
  8. I will join you guys ... and win

Yeah I'd be happy to organise the rankings. Don't think we should start up though until we've all agreed on the best format to take us forward.

    Should be good though
