Champions League bigger than The FA Cup ? I think we are both showing our ages on this one. It's a typical response from the younger generation not brought up on the history and tradition of the greatest competition of all.The Champions League is a falsehood, because not every team in the competition is Champions of thier respective countries.United won it in 1999 while not being Champions of England, and the same goes for the Red Shite in 2005. The Champions League is just a cash cow for the top 4 teams in the English Premiership,so hopefully Michele Platini can get his arse into gear and just get back to the way it was to stop the English dominance, and get back to a level playing field, when it was all about what went on on the pitch, and by not how much money you had.Same goes for other European Leagues,so we can get back to the big European teams of the past being able to compete again. The likes of Anderlecht,Ajax, who have suffered because of this practice.

    Terrible 2 frst penalties for United ? Errr,excuse me,Tim Cahill's has just met Chris Waddle's in Space from Italia 90,so that was a terrible first penalty.As for Ferdinand,bollocks.Wasn't a good save then,no ? Didn't think so.Sorry,rant over.....

Anyway a good week to be a blue.Red shite got their arses kicked by Chelsea in The Champions League, and we get to the Cup Final.

Fergies a atrange manager. He gambled and it didn't pay off. Simple as that. Ronaldo and Rooney could easily have missed their penalties. Had they reached the final Fergie certaintly would have put out a stronger team but I don't think he would have put out his strongest. Strange manager. . .

The Champions League is definitely way way up the list of priorities for United, thats no secret proven by the fact that they once skipped it to head off on a tour of Asia. The FA cup has lost its shine. It's great to see the wee teams mix it with the big boys but semi-finals at Wembley? That sort of defies the point. I understand the reasons for using Wembley for the semis (miney motivated) but I think it kills a lot of what the FA cup is all about.

Cahills penalty was a shocker but Berbatovs was a shamble. Rios sat at a nice height with not enough power. The save was made when the keeper guessed to go right. United failure to capatalise on Cahills missed lost them the shootout. Thats the beauty of shootouts. Fair play Everton though. A wins a win
  2. If United had have won yesterday, then he most certainly would have played his strongest side in the Final. The possibilty of meeting Chelsea in the Champions League Final in Rome on the Wednesday and then playing them again in the FA Cup Final on the Saturday 3 days later was still on the cards at 4 'O Clock tick tock yesterday. But alas we will never know....I hope it's another Arsenal v Barcelona Final like 2006.

I don't think Sir is strange,he's the best there has ever been.He get's the Premiership to equal Liverpool of 19,then another European Cup to equal Bob Paisley of 3,then he'll be on his toes and retiring.

'You don't win anything with kids...' --Alan Hansen 1995,Man United won the Double that season. He's broken up and rebuilt so many sides over the years his record speaks for itself.

Anyway at the end of the season it should read like this....

    Ryan Giggs 11 v 0 Steven Gerrard

This is the closest Stevie G has been to a League Title, and yes he is wearing an Everton kit 1987

  3. I can't pretend to follow the Eredivisie that much, but I didn't see that coming lol! Great going van Gaal et al

Everton's win against United helped cheer up my weekend after Norwich lost the East Anglian derby and look odds-on for relegation to League 1, but then it got that bit better when Udinese did Fiorentina 3-1 Gaetano D'Agostino, hero
  4. Anybody else witness that arsenal Liverpool game? Stunning
  5. Arshavin - 4 attempts - 4 on target -4 goals. Unreal.

Reins didnt make a single save but conceded 4 goals. Stunning game. As good as the Chelsea game last week.

Arsenal isn't allowed to use Arshavin in the CL right? Will look for a summary of the game. MOTD tomorrow?

MOTD yes, and yeah Arshavin is cuptied 'cause he was with Zenit earlier on in the season, pretty pissed I missed it lol.
  8. Great player that Arshavin. Liverpool matches are goal-matches this year, what a number of goals.
  9. Arshavin was brutal during the first half, absolutely nowhere. 4 attempts and 4 goals is a stunning statistic though.
  10. Anybody watched the Chelsea - Liverpool match of the last week? I'm sorry for being late and this topics probably alraeady been discussed but I've just remembered that incredible match... How could Liverpool make such a GREAT match, and even though end on losing it? Such a shame, that guys deserve all our heads up, they are real fighters, until the very end.
    Thumbs up Reds
