1. Why are our kits getting worse? I didnt like our current kit too much but it has grown on me, but this? I think this is a little off....
By the way, great job last week.We put on quite a defensive clinic, with a few slip ups. If only Didi could have put his chance in the back of the net!! Crunch time now boys, all we need is one goal! (and another clen sheet )
  2. What a match I just saw, Real vs Barcelona. Just gallery play, best football played in the world, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, what a team. 6-2

now I know where to look for a nice cyclist T-shirt if I intend to buy one
I'm getting to like this new kit as well. When I first saw the photos of the 08/09 home kit, I thought it was terrible. Photos Chelsea use to reveal their new kits kinda scare fans away, but once they get to see the kits on the pitch, they're not that bad. I'm loving the new goalie kit as well as the away an the 3rd ones. Even though the away kit and the 3rd kit haven't been revealed yet, I think they look like in the photos I posted because I saw the new home shirt a few weeks before Chelsea officially showed it and it was posted with pics of the other two. If the team will really use those, I'll be glad.

while talking about terrible new kits....

and the best is yet to come....

Indeed..was invited to joing the Dutch Barcelona fanclub in the Willem II-stadium in Tilburg to watch this game on screen. Lovely, lovely match and great to be part of these fanatic Barcelona-fans.

I don't watch la liga often but it seems to me that Spanish teams don't know how to defend. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful stuff, but I just see many of thses goals being results of poor defending. For example on Messi's second goal the announcer in America was raving over Messi's play, but he didn't fo anything except finish, he was completly unmarked. Now, thats not to knock Messi, he is a fantastic player. Also, before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'm not trying to say the defensive show we (Chelsea) put on is the best way to play either, but come on...... humor me with a little better marking.
  6. Is the Championship already over?

It's just how you want to play a game. Thumbs up for Real Madrid but they played with the intention to win. Might be unrealistic, but well worth it when you want to see a nice game, with two teams playing to win.

What Chelsea did last time vs Barcelona was playing to not lose, which might be more realistic, but also comes more close to killing the game, making it less attractive for the (neutral) viewers.
  8. I'm quite disapointed in Ajax
4-0 loss against Sparta, the, here it comes, #13 of the Eredivisie
And with a chance to become 2nd...what a weak team it is. Good players, but as team..no no no

FC Twente (with Steve McClaren as coach) became well-deserved 2nd

Credits to Guus Hiddink though. It's ugly to watch but the result is there.
  10. BOING BOING

WEST BROMWICH ALBION ARE STAYING UP!!

    ONLY JOKING!!!

  11. Chelsea get the result which is best for their club regardless of what 'neutrals' want. Credit to the players and manager. Barcalona are cheater, divers and all the fans do it complain whenever Chelsea tackle. Football is about tackling and having a physical presents. The defending is so much better in England. Barca and Madrid wouldn't cope in the English Premiership.
  12. Is Barca or Madrid football more fun to watch than Chelsea football? Most likely - unless you're a Chelsea fan. But it would be stupid to demand of Chelsea not trying to win the game by playing as hard and effective as they possibly can. So they do it in the way they do best and most effectively - just like the Italian national team which nobody outside Italy likes. The German team has been playing a lot of matches that no non- German could like, too (I'm German).

It's true that a single dive can turn the whole match around - so some players take every chance at a good dive. It's even more shameful that their fans will still demand every penalty they desperately try to get. And if the referee refuses these penalty attempts they can easily blame him for losing and whine that their club's "attractive football" has unjustedly been beaten by soulless destructive robot footballers who didn't deserve it.

Professional football has become much more physical during the last twenty years. Sometimes it's downright brutal, and it makes me sad. But these are the rules - if the defender hits the ball first then it's no foul, now matter how hard he hits the forwarder a millisecond later. I doubt anyone can change that, so accept it as part of the game. These are modern gladiator games, and the sheer physicality is part of the attraction. Accept it with a tear but accept it - there's no beauty award in football but simple goal counting. If you want beauty then better go and watch ice figure skating.
