I think the decision had already been made when David Gill said he was stepping down in the summer.
I hope it's not David Moyes. I don't think he has the ability yet, to walk into a top team. What you would get with Moyes though, is stability. He's been at Everton for 10 years already and without spending too much, he's done a great job. Only broke the top four once or twice and never really did anything in Europe.
Mourinho is a live wire. He could win the lot with United (note: bring Ronaldo with you). But how long will he last? Nobody wants to become Chelsea. I like a bit of controversy, I like that Man Utd are hated and I think Mourinho will suit that nicely.
Jurgen Klopp has shown he has the skills and with his Dortmund side set to be destroyed in the summer (Lewandowski and Klopp to United?) he has more than enough reason to jump the ship.
Many, including Benitez himself, believe that Chelsea are set to sign Mourinho. But as I've said, the decision would've been made long ago. It's no coincident that he's announced his retirement a few days before United lift the Premier League trophy against Swansea and he, and the board will have already set in motion the plans for a replacement. Mourinho wants out of Madrid and Moyes is stalling on his contract.
News coming out now that Rooney has asked to leave again within the last two weeks. I've said it for all of this season and most of the previous two, he's been poor. In fact, had we sold him three years ago, the only thing we'd have missed is that overhead kick against Man City. Get rid of him now and allow Kagawa to shine.
As much as I believe the reports, I don't really believe the Daily Fail's story:
