R.D.S is better than Sydney. I can't pinpoint it exactly. Bono's vocals just sound a bit muffled. Sounds like an indoor gig

the DVD is shite. On the audio side of things (which I think is being discussed) it just really isn't that brilliant

It wasn't their best show of the tour. The band mentioned that they'd have done better if they'd had camera's in NY a few days later.

Soundwise, it's not as bad as Vertigo Chicago.

Slane was amazing. Did Hamish direct that one? I know he directed Boston Elevation and Chicago Vertigo. And while not horrible, they are not as good as they could and should have been.

It just sounds cold, sterile, inconsistent.

Yep he did. And while it seems cool to bash him, I think he did a good job on all releases.
Funny side note is, that everyone praises U23D for the same elements Hamish got flamed for...

all glazed over with the 3D and the audio. Loved it the first time but the second time it weren't so great.

    I still can't stand Hamish. . . .
  10. lol i rate Vertigo Chigaco as their worst dvd to date... don't quite like the performances etc.

elevation boston is maybe not very good (bono's voice is a bit cracked) but they were very willing and doing the best they can and on the vertigo dvd it looks like they were playing on a automatic pilote.... AND on boston dvd there is the best version of THE FLY ever... so...

Chicaco is just plain Vertigo with no special stuff. An Cat Dubh seems cool, but compared to the early days, it's shite. Boston's sound is very good, way better than Chicago, but the performances are pure Elevation and Bono's voice is bad because he was sick.

Agree with Gerard about RDS/Sydney. RDS is just way better...
  12. Personally, I defend Chicago a little bit. It was one of the DVDs that got me into U2.

Also, the Vertigo version of "The Electric Co." is the best they've ever done of that song. End of story.
