  1. Seems to be going down a storm elsewhere. Admittedly, not my cup of tea either and as far as U2 go, there's very little evidence that they're even in the track. But, I have seen a lot of praise for the track so it's done U2 no harm.
  2. I don't understand the blind hate. Hip hop is poetry. You need to understand where it stems from. Inner cities, suppression, angst, anger. Listen to the WORDS. Hip hop is about WORDS.
  3. To each their own, but please don't be ignorant and call an entire genre of art and music "crap" or "terrible." There are bad artists and songs like on every genre of music.

  7. I'd say I listen to more rap than rock yet U2 is my favorite band.

  9. Most of the band are hiphop / rap fanatics. So that might be one reason. And Kendrick is at the top of his genre/game the last years. Why wouldn't you wan't to collaborate with one of the mos creative and successful artists around right now. !
  10. Generally rap/hip hop is it isn't really my cup of tea, and although I think I may be getting more receptive to some of it, I'm still always gonna be a rock n roll guy. I'm not crazy about XXX as a whole but you know what? The U2 part from 2.30 onwards isn't only not bad... I think it's actually pretty good. It's got a smooth, loungey vibe that I can dig... It's groovier than most stuff they've done and it sounds pretty modern to me. If that's a taste of what might be on SOE, then bring it on.
  11. If the second part is all U2 it speaks volumes about their ability as musicians to be able to step into a genre like that and play their instruments completely differently to what they have done all their lives.
