1. The live 360 tracks are just about keeping me going. About time we got a whiff of a new album.
  2. I hope U2 has learned their lesson about hyping songs up long before the release date. Do you remember on the last few albums how we would hear a soundbite about how great GOYB, MOS or Magnificent are? Articles about how Get on Your Boots is AMAZING were out and about the summer of 08, and MOS since like 07. By the time the album was released the world expected too much from the hype imo. I hope this time we just get A SONG DROPPED and a release date without any proper hype. Look at the Strokes, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Justin Timberlake this year. We haven't heard any real details about the album and that makes it that much more exciting.
  3. Boots may not have lived up to the hype until they started performing it live.

But MOS and Magnificent very much did live up to the hype, imo.
  4. I think they might actually be doing this, keeping it low-profile until close to release...I think Bowie might have made an impression on them.

    I hope so!

Yep, the album had some really great tunes, I think:

    Magnificent
    MOS
    Breathe

    NLOTH is also good

White as snow and Cedars of Lebanon are OK, but they're not live songs

Unknown Caller may also be OK - but, again, not the best live song

But GOYB, Stand Up Comedy and Crazy Tonight - mmm:OK B-sides!

    And no real single! Ouch.

I think it's all a matter of taste. No Line on the Horizon is my favourite, but I'm sure there are loads of fans who think it's their worst.

It all comes down to your last line: no real single. I still wonder what would've happened if Moment of Surrender was released as lead single at short notice...

Yep, who knows. But it isn't really a radio tune (as opposed to Vertigo or SYCMIOYO). I also really like the album - I don't think it is a low point in their career. In any event, I'm quite confident that we won't be let down - not sure why...
  10. So we wont be getting a best of 2000-2010 by the looks of it, i was hoping that North Star, EBW and the other unreleased 360 tracks would make that album and maybe we see one become a single ala Electrical Storm.
