I watched the original youtube broadcast live (woke up at 4:30 AM and all that stuff) and it was ok - but when the DVD was announced, I was pissed that they'd taken Breathe (THE SHOW OPENER!!!!!!! for Gods sake) out, so I didn't buy it on release day as I would have normally done... Then I saw how terrible it looked on some youtube previews and just skipped it altogether. I think I've never sat through the whole concert - I've watched bits and particular songs every now and then (mainly Unknown Caller, UTEOTW, TUF, Streets, Ultraviolet and MOS) but never the whole thing in a row. And that's not a good thing to say about one of your your favourite's band live releases
I believe this was due to technical issues during the recording of Breathe that it wasn't possible to put it in the release..
  2. Yes. They've mixed in some different camera angels for EU and A TON MORE shots of people in the audience. The band wasn't even on stage I have seen way more different people I don't know, than I wanna see in a whole show, to be honest.

The US broadcast was actually the cut, we had from the leaks.
  3. i don't think there will be great differences, but anyway as fan of the band i collect everything i can, so i will buy the dvd too....
  4. I liked POP Mexico and Zoo Sydney but their a lot of other bands who have done great things with their live film show's! i am not saying U2 live DVD's are not great! I watched the rose bowl from 360 and went to a Melbourne show on 360 the next year and honestly i didn't think the DVD did the claw any justice at all, upon seeing the claw in person for the first time i thought the DVD could of been a lot better, however this is just my opinion.
  5. I will definitely buy it! And probably watch it a million times.
  6. I will buy it, but I understand the point about 360°. It is the worst so far
  7. As long as they don't take out the show opener for the tour again (can you imagine watching the DVD without the The Miracle beginning it?!) I'll be happy. Even putting it on a bonus disc like they did with Breathe was a cheap shot.

I never liked their editing of official live stuff - don't expect that to change this time. The EU edit of HBO I turned off after a few minutes, the band wasn't even on stage. I watch a U2 show to see U2, not hundreds of faces I don't know within a few minutes.

Might glance at the bonus part, tho.

I take it you didn't like Slane Castle very much? If we're talking about crowd shots, U2 Go Home is the absolute king of crowd shots.

Regarding the audio mixing, I think each official release had stellar mixing, except for maybe Rose Bowl but i never found myself needing to listen to that since the entire Rose Bowl set was available through U22.
