1. I think that Coldplay is trying to hard to be U2. Check out this video:

Doesn't the theme look a little, 'familiar'? I guess the ZOO didn't close.

sorry if this isn't in the right place Come to think of it, this should go in the "Coldplay new Album" forum, or whatever its called.

edit: sorry for the double vid . this always happens to me.

At least the Zoo is still open
  3. I agree with you...they do copy some things. Martin and his men never really admit it, but U2 is the band they wanna be.

Is this the videoclip for Violet Hill?
It's indeed a bit U2-ish, but I don't care. It's a great band with great music and great new songs.
    I think it's a nice vid tough.
  7. yeh Chris Martin thinks he's Bono. I kinda like Coldplay and they definetly have the business flair to become really big. But i don't think they'll ever be as big as U2.for one reason. They ain't good enough.still good.just not that good.
  8. The only thing missing was if "Everything You Know Was Wrong" appeared in white letters at the end of the video.

They are also playing a free show in New York. Although, its not a "surprise." Did anybody else enter to win tickets?
  11. I think you see this in every band, that they want to be their idols. I think U2 also want to be...uhm
Well, Bono might wanted to be Lou Reed?
U2 is an example for a lot of bands now: Coldplay, Kane, Feeder, Snow Patrol, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, etc.
In 15/20 years those bands will be the examples...
  12. just listening to Violet Hill the whole way through for the first time. its not bad at all. i like it. anyone else think that the guitar solo sucks though? pity. pretty good song and id say the album will be 2.everyone lookin forward to it? doesnt look like it'll beat Accelerate to the album of the year. dare i say it but i dont think even new U2 album in October could stop that...........
