    At least it gave us a nice memory... Can't remember them playing this good since the return of the qualifications for euro 2004, against Schotland...A 6-0 victory...

  7. I agree with Remy. Bad day for Holland. Netherlands gave us the best football of the group stage, but today they were a disappointment. I know that football history tries to dictate that there shouldn't be any love or respect between German and Dutch fans, but I don't care about that. I say they played amazingly good and were the best team... until today. Weak defense, boring midfield. Sorry.

    The Russians on the other hand were running twice as fast and fought for every ball, especially as time passed and the match progressed. They were in a frightening physical condition. If they had only been smarter at scoring they could easily have won in regular time. But 1:0 is always close, and "Van the Man" had his moment - even if it was a short one.

    If the Russians can keep this pace and improve their scoring a little better... well, wait and see. They will be no easy opponent for Italy, Spain, Germany or Turkey. Not to be underestimated anymore. Anything's possible.

    no way, mate the spain won't win against Italy (sadly enough, because I want the Italians to be thrown out of the tournament NOW)...

    ...and even IF they beat the Italians... no way Spain beats THIS Russian team. Not if they play like they did last night.

    It's so disappointing how the Dutch played last night I was sitting there growing desperate by the minute, especially during the second half -- I knew the Dutch could play a hundred times better than they did last night, but they didn't do it. Might have been well caused by the Russians who played excellent, hands down

    So I think it'll be Russia - Italy for the semi final. If Russia wins, we'll take revenge for our Dutch friends if Italy makes it to the final..... we'll take revenge for the semin final 2006 and beat those Italian cowboys 4:1
  9. NOOOOOOO Holland are out! Russia played what Dutches did in the group stage- dangerous and very fast counter attacks on the wings. Russians were the better side yesterday

  11. We deserved to loose. No energy, tempo, combinations. We played way too slow, there was no movement, defensively we failed. The Russians however played great, with movement on and off the ball. They easily could have won 5-1 or something. THey weren't efficient with their chances. They must improve on that if they wanna reach the final.

    Was a great tournament for us with somegreat football. But 1988 still remains as the only Dutch international highlight.

    imo they showed better results than italy in the group stage..
