1. Just put the album on my iPod as you guys seem to like it... I am not fond of Brandons voice, but I will give it a try tomorrow.

Sam's Town is grossly overrated amongst Killers fans in my opinion. It has some good music, but the lyrical content is lackluster in that it was the beginning of Brandon spewing out clever word play, metaphors and imagery for the sake of sounding poetic, when in actuality most of it doesn't make much sense. I'm not saying all the lyrics are like that, but some are. And some of the songs just drag for me, like For Reasons Unknown, and Bling, both songs that people put on a pedestal that I just can't really stand. When You Were Young, Read My Mind and Bones are really the only songs I'd put in with Killers' best, other than that I've never found the album as good as most people say it is. Don't get me wrong, it is a great album, but it's not their best and it's just not a masterpiece. I think Hot Fuss and now Battle Born surpass it.

I agree with pretty much all of this.
  3. Speaking of which, I remember there being a deal regarding glow-in-the-dark shirts. Anybody have any feedback on that or am I jumping the gun?

I must agree with Alex here, except that I first thought Day&Age was crap and I still think it But Battle Born is really good and, although it obviously hasn't fully settled yet, I think it's on par with Sam's Town as their 2nd best album

    Yup. LOVE Midnight Show.
  5. What's with this mob not playing a whole lot from their latest album, especially the title track?

  6. I think up to this point (or maybe it's done now) it's all been promo tour, so they haven't really been trying out new songs for the sake of playing a safe set to play a show they know they can play well. I think once they get on the road and shows don't really matter as much (not every show is televised or streamed) they'll start to experiment.
  7. It's a difference in strategy. Some bands like to bring out the new songs right away to start experimenting during the promo-tour/festival setting before getting things going for real. Others like to play it safe so they can regain their sync as a group going on tour. Considering the fact that it's been a while since The Killers were on the road, my guess is that they are in this second group.

When the ball gets rolling, expect there to be tons of new songs played. As with Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto, I feel that nearly every song on Battle Born has the potential to become a live staple.
  8. Yes! Just bought tickets to see them on December 15th!
  9. ^ congraaaatzzzz
  10. Well I'm seeing them in January, I just hope they play Losing Touch and Battle Born! If they do those two I'll be stoked!

I just hope they play a killer set (pun definitely intended). I feel like there's no set that they could play that would leave me saying "well that could've been better " One thing these guys know how to do is perform a great set. One thing I will say I'm hoping for is a good amount of tunes from Battle Born though!
