That's not the whole story, from Wikipedia:

In 2009 the Daily Mirror claimed a so called "insider" said "They’re exhausted. They haven’t had a break since they first formed and it has started getting to them. When they started out they were all good friends, but they just don’t seem to get on any more. They are sick of the sight of each other. Brandon tries to be a peacemaker but when he loses it the whole band falls apart. They know taking a break could damage their career but they can’t see a way out and they don’t want to split.”

  2. Yeah I heard that as well; I respect bands much more when they do that, and Coldplay sure isn't taking any chances releasing a bad album. Sort of wish they'd carry on, but a couple years' worth of a break and then a revitalization, with fresh, new, hopefully just-as-amazing material could really work wonders for their credibility. As far as I'm concerned, they've got PLENTY of it already.

Maybe something similar with The Killers? But it sounds as though they just aren't meant to be- look at the struggles U2 have overcome together, through multi-million dollar tour productions that people just didn't get, 50% of the band being involved in side-politic jobs, etc....it's a lot for a band to handle, and I quote Larry Mullen- "U2 won't break up because of musical differences. U2 will break up because someone squeezed the toothpaste from the wrong end".

Maybe The Killers have it in them, maybe they're mature enough to take a few years hiatus and actually work the magic again in years to come. Anyway, I'm happy with what they've put out so far, and I dont ever long for fresh Killers material, so even if they do end up calling it quits, let's salute the work they've done for us already
  3. Part I) Wikipedia sucks if it's not for historial or scientist articles.

Part II) I knew about that, and so? That doesn't mean anything, U2 were one step away of splitting up in 1990 and... whoa, they brought Achtung Baby.

It is with great regret that The Killers have been forced to cancel their upcoming appearances in Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo and Seoul due to unforeseen circumstances involving a serious illness of a close family member. The band deeply apologizes to their fans and hopes to reschedule their shows in these cities soon, we hope you understand and respect our privacy at this difficult time. At this time, the band's Australian appearances remain scheduled as planned.

  4. Fuck, I definitely love When You Were Young. It's my most favorite song of the 00's , without any doubt. Fucking incredible.

I've told you all 1000 times but I thought that one more time wouldn't hurt

You do realise that the only people who update the Killers wikipedia page are the Killers fans right?

    And they have sources too.

Yes, and (supposedly) the only people who update U2 wikipedia are the U2 fans... . . ... . and it's plagued of mistakes. Being a fan and having sources does not mean that you're neccesarely right.

The fans are probably more credible than the band, which say mostly spin, just look at U2 for example

And how are any of U2 wikipedia pages innacurate, the song pages for NLOTH for example are excellent.
  8. This photo I've just found on my hard disk is incredible

  9. Amazing shot!

And I have the same opinion about When You Were Young...this song absolutely rocks!!!

It's one of those songs you have to listen to it very very loud

I was thinking about "When You Were Young" yesterday, actually...I had "Hot Fuss" in my car stereo, and as I was driving and listening to some of the awesome guitar work on the album, I stopped and thought...why on earth did Guitar Hero III choose WYWY instead of something from Hot Fuss? Seriously, Jenny Was a Friend Of Mine, Mr. Brightside, even ATTTID have more interesting guitar parts than WYWY. I simply don't understand. Love the song- but in terms of a "Guitar Hero" song? I can't believe they missed out on the opp. to include Mr. Brightside, there.
  11. I'll take this opportunity to turn what WAS a double-post into another though, possibly sparking more discussion...

    "And sometimes I get nervous
When I see an open door
    Close your eyes
    Clear your heart....

    Cut the cord
    "

Was one of those lyrical phrases that, the first time I heard, I literally could not. stop. smiling I lovvvve it so much.
  12. I deeply love Human, but I can't get into the lyrics, I don't understand most of the parts ("cut the cord", for example)
