I don't necessarily agree on the idea that this is the Edge era of the Tele., I just think he's seen to use them more lol. ZooTV and PopMart were definitely the Les Paul era (plus occasional appearances of Ricks.) whilst JT was the Black Strat. era, but post-2000 I don't think he's really been turning to one sort of guitar before any other - I'm more of the opinion that he's just becoming a bit of a guitar-whore lol and just experimenting like hell

EDIT - in the first Guardian vid., I'm wondering if the big jam they have with Edge on the tobacco Tele. might be the predecessor to Fez/Being Born...

EDIT (2) - I swear Edge was about to break out into Sweet Child'O Mine at the end of the "Edge Back" vid. lol!

Near the end of the video, you see Edge playing the 1996 white Fender 40th Anniversary Telecaster and then hand it off to Dallas. (that take possibly on the album) - about 2:26 into the video.

And remember that the same guitar, while not used for "Walk On" on stage, did appear in the video for that song.

So I stick with my initial 'theory' that the Telecaster has become a guitar of favor for the 2000's
