Pics from BBC. Is that Indiana Jones playing bass! =O) Adam in a hat. That is different.
Looks like Edge has a new (to him, or newly seen by us) Tweed Fender Blues Jr. amp, or perhaps he had the black Blues Junior from the Vertigo tour recovered?
Looks like the Gretsch Country Gentleman is the guitar for "Magnificent". A Tele may have been on some of the song on the album but the solo (on the album) does sound very "Kite-like"; which was done with a Gretsch Country Gent. Also, he's seems to be using the custom made ring slide, instead of a regular tube slide for the solo on Magnificent.

Yeah, definitely. Guitar is probably the easiest instrument to learn. Word of advice though: you will most likely not be able to play a number of Edge's guitar parts without the correct equipment and the U2 rhythm section behind you. What I mean is, even if you figure out the basic part you won't get it to sound exactly right without the right guitar, effects, amp, &c.
If you decide to pick up guitar, the best way to improve I found was to get some music with simple enough guitar parts--Beatles, Oasis, any will do--and play along to the recordings. At the very least you'll have lots of fun![]()

A little question here. My dad's friend showed me yesterday a PC programme called Guitar Pro 5. A lot of useful things, plenty of songs in the songbook. How should I understand the numbers on tabs?![]()
