Yesterday's show was amazing, I was on the second row of the GA and I took some great (fucking great if I may say) pics of The Edge (3 meters away from my idol, I still can't believe it). I will post them tomorrow, but most noticeable news are that UV was played on a black/white Strat (Eric Clapton-esque), SBS on a sunburst Strat (used for Pride on the V Tour if I recall right) and ... =>>>> [..] YES!!!!!!!!! I Told you all in this same thread when the album leaked out!!! I told "I'm sure that Unknown Caller is a Les Paul song"... I was damn RIGHT

Right? Maybe. Not trying to discount your claim but understand that because he's using a Les Paul 'live' doesn't equal that was the guitar used on the album or the only guitar used on the album.

That said, it also means that it's possible that it was used for the album for at least some if not all of the guitar tracks.

    EDIT - [YouTube Video]

Go to 4mins or so, Edge turns around and is on full display to the camera and I'm pretty sure that is a Fernandes...sexy piece of kit, but it's no Explorer

From all the video that I've seen, UV was played on a Fernandes, judging by the shape of the headstock. You can see the shape of that headstock better at the last minute or so of that u2006 youtube footage of the tune. Looks the same shape as a Fernandes and not a Fender, to me.

Don't think it's a "Clapton Stratocaster" other than the black finish with white pickguard, similar to Clapton's favored combination.

Hope to see some better close-up pictures and footage to determine for certain.
  3. Well, I was there, I was singing and shouting and crying and jumping during one of my favorite songs, so as you can imagine I wasn't think "Oh, it must be some kind of not known Fernandes" hahaha... No, I simply thought "Wow, it's not an Explorer, wow, it's a black Strat", and then burst into tears because, FUCK, they were playing Ultraviolet, 16 years later.........

IN the end that is all that really matters - they are playing songs like "UltraViolet" and "The Unforgettable Fire" again! That, to me, is absolute magic!

Can't wait to see/hear the clips from show two today! Wish I was there!

I'm guessing "Drowning Man" and the acoustic-ish "Mysterious Way" might be in today? Perhaps Elevation too.

Now if they would break out "God Pt. II" and "Hawkmoon 269" - how great would that be!?!?!?

  5. No it isn't! The only reason I bought an Explorer was due to Edge playing Ultra Violet on his!

    (joke )

    Have to agree there lol...

Worth Edge playing Ultra Violet on a Fernandes and not his Explorer...

  6. They're rehearsing Electrical Storm now
  7. Seems like Electrical was played on a Casino ... ¿¿ ??

  8. Sounded it too, unless I'm mistaken you can't mistake that tone.

    If that makes any sense.

  9. Not only the tone... Just check 03:00 in this video, and put it on full screen mode... It seems to be the Epi Casino used for NLOTH and Breathe
