1. Baically just a long delay (about 430-440ms) with modulation, (usually edge's modulation settings imo are very fast and very low depth).
Then you need a light overdrive for the main parts,
a compressor if you want to get very technical and spot on, but a very transparent compressor sound,
then a shimmer type sound, like from a verbzilla or eclipse.
For the solo sounds you need a tube screamer on high settings

That should be about it, as far as exact settings go, just feel it out. Tweak, tweak, and tweak, like other Edge guitarists have, and you'll find the right sound

  3. Yes, U2station has a great database of chords and tabs, I discovered it only some months ago, around september or so... Of course I still write my own tabs and try to play everything by ear, but tabs and chords are helpful when you get stuck

Useful resource for sure. Keeping in mind that they are not professionally done. Some are blatantly wrong. But they are a good starting place.
  5. It's amazing how no one has been able to write a decent tab for Seconds, Like A Song and Drowning Man in all this years

    What, really?

You guys are strange, I was using the U2station tab archive ages ago, even before I got my guitar!
(to play songs on my iPhone guitar app, lol).

Also, does anyone know what the opening chords of Streets are (the ones played on organ/synthesiser)
  7. D
    short A
    G

    D
    short A
    G

    Bm
    A
    Gsus4

Don't know much about organ chords but with a quick guitar check that were the chords that sounded about right.

PS. I've just remembered - I discovered the U2station site in May of last year when I was unable to play by ear some of the chords and arpegios on Cedars Of Lebanon.
  8. From the Milan version of AIWIY what is edge playing from 2.00min to 2.50 min, thats the only bit im really stuck on.
  9. this will prob sound dumb but how do i tune my guitar half a step down?
  10. Ignore this.
