Didn't his clapton strats have some kind of mid booster in the circuitry or something too? That's what I've heard anyway, which is what gave them that specific tone.
The sound was spectacular too, it sounds like an AC30, but a bit "smoother," I would say (either that or the distortion used.. either way, it sounds great.) That single clip sold it for me, I've got to say. Great find!
