  4. Glad to be back. I have been busy with a number of things... work and stuff. Long story.

    Need a guitar or bass... a spare guitar perhaps? And.... on a budget? Squier Classic Vibe (series) guitars and bass guitars... they better than one might think.

    Now I have never been a fan of the Squier stuff. And I have said as much over the years. Truth is, Squier has been kinda of crap for years. And a lot of the Squier stuff IS crap. BUT... It seems they are trying to work past that with the 'Classic Vibe Series.

    They make `50's and `60's versions of Strats, Tele's, P-bass and Jazz basses.

    Now they are hardly Fender Custom Shop or Master Built - but they are actually pretty decent. And if you need a Tele for a couple tunes or would like a backup Stratocaster... this might we worth considering.

    Plus could be a good spare that one could put a few bucks in to upgrade the pickups later... Although the one's that are in them are not so bad.



    I'd been saying I wanted one for ages. I wanted to learn. Plus I thought it would be useful for recording at home when making my songs that I make for fun.



    My buddy Ian decided he'd surprise me. He asked me if I'd pick up something for him from True Tone Music. Turned out, what he'd done was buy me a Squier by Fender 'Classic Vibe' (series) `60/s Precision Bass. (Very cool of him to get it for me)







    The other good news? Ian bought it at True Tone Music in Santa Monica. Unlike Guitar Center and Sam Ash... True Tone actually sets up EVERY guitar they sell. So the action and all were fit for play straight away.







  5. Yes the Streamer I last posted is AWESOME. I hope to have one myself one day. Warwick's are 100% pure quality.

    That said, they introduced another version at NAMM - the Warwick Streamer CV. (CV stands for Classic Vintage). It looks like the gold one that I posted, that Adam had made for himself... and like that one - the pickups are passive.

    So while the gold one I previously posted as sort of a Precision set of passive pickups, the Streamer CV has passive Jazz Bass style pickups.

    As Adam Clayton prefers passive pickups... I could TOTALLY see him playing one of these, although not likely in tobacco finish. Legend has it... he hates tobacco finish.

  6. I'm beginning to feel like getting a bass myself. The Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Special looks pretty cool.



    Or a Höfner Ignition for obvious reasons.



    I should go try some.
  7. Hofners are affordable although overrated (in quality). I will DEFINITELY get one some day. Soon
  8. I think I will get the Squier first though, seems more flexible to me... But my life will definitely not be complete without one of those Höfners. I just look at one and feel an extreme need to buy one.

  11. It's a shorter scale than usual, and it sounds FECKING AWESOME to be honest, better than any full-scale mid-range acoustic I've ever played. In fact, the only (6 strings) acoustic I've liked better in my life (quality/price wise, of course) is my grandfa's Takamine, which is priced at something like 600€ nowadays... But still doesn't play 6 times better than this beauty. Lots of sustain, a beautiful tone (somehow "darker" than you'd expect, but I like that a lot) and, why deny it, a damn cool look.
