I suspect he does. I know he has helped with Adam's gear. Dallas is the one that found the Shoreline Gold and Sherwood Green Jazz bass' for Adam. And as Adam and Bono have, like Edge, switched from CAE/Bradshaw effects switching units to Skrydstrup... might be safe to assume he's had some influence there too.

So what does Bono's guitar tech. do then?

Does he hang about with Stuart Morgan and Adam's espresso machine?

Tea time and Cappucino's on Adam's side o' the stage!

That can be Adam's new talk show... "Tea and Cap's with Adam".

No. I think that Bono's tech (Frasier wasn't there on Vertigo, I think he had a new lad) and Stuart handle their gear during the tour... but I think that Dallas had a hand in designing Bono's rack and getting Bono and Adam to use the Skrydstrup controllers.

Trust me, Dallas has ENOUGH to do for The Edge on "Show Day".

Ah, didn't think about it that way - and re. Dallas' job description, I totally agree lol!
  5. Dallas work description:

  6. ...oh yes, and COOL fecking dude too, that Dallas.

    So we've heard

I have to say, can you imagine the demand he'd warrant if he were to ever leave the U2 crew?

Dallas is on retainer. U2 comes first. BUT... when U2 are not working he does work for other bands. If memory serves... he did take care of Nils Lofgren's guitars with Bruce Springsteen around the time of the 2002-2003 "The Rising" tour era.

I think the same is the case for Joe O'Herlihy. He did sound for REM during the 1995-1996 Monster tour and the 1999 UP album's tour. I believe he's also done sound for The Cranberries.

I wonder, if Edge ever had to miss a gig (I know Larry missed one or two during the early years, and then there's Adam's fiasco during the last leg of ZooTV), would it be feasible to think that Dallas might fill in for him?
  10. Hmm. I have a feeling they wouldn't do the show if one of them wasn't there now. The ZooTV show had to be done without Adam i think. Wasn't it more less the dress rehearsal and sound and video check for the Sydney movie? As for the early years, they were kids, they were trying to make a career, the show always had to go on. Now, I think they would re-do the show at the end of the tour. Their core, the four of them, is the very spirit of U2, and they've said that themselves. So I think they would just reschedule. If not, Dallas would undoubtedly fill in for Edge.

I think they recorded 2 nights in sydney, so they chose the second night with adam for video/dvd material of course, as far as I know.. ?

Well, they did 2 shows in Sydney and the one which Adam missed was essentially the dress rehearsal - the 2nd show was the one that went onto film, and that was when Adam dragged himself back onstage

I hear what you say about the 4 being the spirit of U2, but I was just wondering out aloud, really - just thinking whether it would ever be a possibility?
