bet he's pissed phil x only had to wait a couple of years.

that said, i'm excited for this. it already seems like it's gonna be more of a band effort than the bland jon solo effort of WAN.
I'm more curious than excited, I wanna see what Phil did, I wanna see what Jon did on the first official album without any Sambora in it
  2. Looking forward to this. Hopefully I can catch them on tour again soon.

  3. what do we reckon, folks?

i think as latter-day, cookie-cutter BJ lead singles go ('We Weren't Born To Follow', 'Because We Can', 'We Don't Run') it's pretty good.

it hits me as basically a rehash of the HAND-era stuff, with Bruce's 'Atlantic City' riff slapped on top. if it's the best on the record i'll be unbelievably disappointed but as an appetite-wetter i'm content. love Phil X and Huey getting involved in the video too. that's what they need at this point, a strong unit - not just being seen as 'The Jon Bon Jovi Backing Band', as with the last record's promotion.

EDIT: that little turn to the camera he does about 1:35 into the video made me spit my coffee out, 100% accidental Zoolander. dunno why, maybe because he looks so half-arsed lipsyncing?
  4. never liked him

Honestly, Burning Bridges is an album where there is pretty much no Sambora on it except for one song. And this album to me, is a tiny bit better than What About Now, and MILES beyond The Circle. But just like Prince's 1996 near masterpiece, Chaos And Disorder, It is considered a throwaway contract obligation.
  6. Well, I've had a listen to THINFS - hmmmm. Sounds just like We Weren't Born To Follow and pretty much the rest of The Circle. It comes nowhere near HAND which was a great album.
  7. I'm preferring Knockout over This House Is Not For Sale.

Nice Day was a great album, I kind of would say it is a "parallel" of Atomic Bomb..nice later career album. And I probably like House a little bit more than you do. But not much more. But it's better than anything on the Circle, which is one of the worst albums of any artist I am crazy about. Sambora's absence will be larger than life live, but then again, he's not been around for a bit anyway. Imagine U2 without the Edge? Well even Bono's ego is not that of JBJ who in that dreadful documentary talked about how he is the CEO and leader of the corporation, uh band.
  9. ^ speaking as a lifelong BJ fan, i think the When We Were Beautiful documentary was such a misfire.

it was meant to be a "look at how far this bunch of buddies have come and how much we love what we do", and it ended just up exposing Jon as an uptight egomaniac whose 'buddies' are employees on a salary and who can't take any criticism.
  10. Yeah. I remember watching that documentary and thinking 'Really?'
  11. Bon Jovi played the entire new album last weekend on New Jersey, here is a little playlist of the songs
