    I couldn't agree more
  2. Why the hell is Achtung Baby WAY higher than Joshua Tree? This list is retarded, in every other list, JT is higher, and usually achtung baby isnt even on it. I know Joshua Tree is like 26 on 100 albums of all time, i dont know if achtung is even on it. Weird...
Nothing against Achtung Baby, I'm just saying I think Joshua tree deserves way better than 60-whatever it got on that list, higher than AB anyway.
  3. I disagree.

    Achtung Baby > Joshua Tree

    Whoops I've started something.

I agree with you Tom, AB is way better than JT....JT sucks after the first five songs...

You certainly have haha. It's all a matter of opinion, but I believe the joshua tree made a much larger impact on the world of music, and their band, then achtung baby did. Still Havent Found, with or without you, and stuff like that are all known by people that don't even know U2. But songs like Real Thing and Mysterious Ways (their big songs from that album) just aren't as legendary in my opinion.

"Sucks after the first 5 songs?"

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you there.

I tend to think that all the albums have a lot of value. I can agree with many of the critics that put The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby as U2's two masterpieces - as they are both pretty amazing.

Well it''s not that bad as I mentioned it indeed, but to be honest: JT isn't as great as everyone says IMO....
  8. Nothing against JT, but AB pwns it. Also, TUF > JT, in my humble opinion.
  9. I personally prefer AB to JT, but JT is the album that made U2 a global name, and it rates pretty highly on my personal favourites as it is! JT sets out the stall with the epic feel, the big hits and general awe-inspiring approach, whereas AB takes that, sticks it through the blender combined with a bit of absinthe and rearranges everything completely - it broke the mould for U2.

I swear someone brought this up in another topic though...
  10. I love them both equally, maybe the Joshua Tree a little bit more because it was their first album I owned, still havent found was the first song I heard by them, and streets might be my favourite song by U2. But I love them both. I'm just saying I think Joshua Tree made a bigger impact on the world of music, and them obviously, because before JT they were still considered to some as an "underground band". Live aid was what kicked the world in the ass and introduced them to U2, but Joshua Tree was what gave them their stardom.

    Yea 69th post!
