1. Hey guys. I was just wondering if anybody else ever comes across a new musical artist and suddenly they feel like, oh my god, something new, fresh, really great, and not U2! I'm not calling get "getting sick of U2". I'm just saying, it's almost like taking a break from U2. Right now I'm listening to John Mayer a lot, and playing his guitar stuff, not so much U2 right now. I just sort of, "found out" about Mayer a couple weeks ago and I've been raving about his work ever since. Anybody else ever experience stuff like this? It's sort of interesting I guess. All I usually listen and play is U2, so it's sort of good I guess to get a break.
  2. I always have phases. Some weeks I will listen a lot of U2, some weeks I will listen a lot of Rush, some weeks I will ilsten a lot of Chili Peppers and so on. There is not a band I always listen.
  3. I just hope you.... wait.... John Mayor? why!?
  4. Yep, I'm takin' a break too. I won't say who I'm listening to, as I know Nick won't like it...

Dude, have you heard John Mayers blues stuff? I know a lot of people don't like his pop/acoustic stuff, but have you heard the album Continuum? It's gold. It's amazing music.

I'll agree, he's a pretty amazing guitarist on some of those blues riffs. Just don't watch his face while he's playing. He's got one of the most awkward facial expressions when he plays.

It's like he's being tortured. Quite strange considering how laid-back and relaxed his music is.
  8. Haha. So very true. But at the same time, it's sort of inspiring because you can tell he's really into what he's doing at that moment.

    Can't disagree with that....

I've always loved 'em....but now, my gosh. I think they're my second-favorite band....
  12. Man does not live by U2 alone. Although, he/she [almost] could. But why, when there is so much great music out there.

Like most here, I go through various phases of revisiting older records/CDs in my collection and discovering new albums and new bands.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Rush, Muse, Bruce Springsteen, The Who and The Clash.
