I can't get into Coldplay, The Killers' new material sucks monkey balls (after an awesome debut album), The Bloc Party's latest album bites and Mellencamp's got a newie out but he's an old hillbilly. That just leaves hip hop, emo and Maroon 5. What else is there??

EDIT: Arcade Fire is great and the only other thing decent I find is Kings of Leon but I can only take small doses of them.

I like Bloc Party's "A Weekend In The City", tis a good album, but I lost interest after a while. A few songs are always listenable but I can't listen to it all the time. And I quite liked Songs About Jane, but again, I got bored of that. On the contrary, I never get tired of listening to Achtung Baby or Joshua Tree or Zooropa or War or Boy etc.

  2. I just had a Travis-period...maybe I'm still in it....and I didn't listen to U2 anymore then....
    But they always come back....
  3. Indeed. Since last march I've been on a Beatles phase from which I'm not out yet. Im still listening a fucking lot to U2, but... man, The Beatles are a lot easier to play guitar and sing along

Also Dire Straits and Led Zeppelin are always there, and The Police (specially since the concert I attended on July 5th which was awesome), but The Beatles are my top now I think.
  4. Thinking of this topic deeply, I've realised that U2 aren't that big. For example, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin had more albums, more shows, more fans.

But U2 has that SOMETHING that you really can't define, and make them the biggest never, ever and forever.

[That's what I want to say; From Jamiroquai's song You Give Me Something]

    You, you give me something
Something that nobody else can give
See my heart, has started thumpin'
You're the one I truly know I dig...

    It's very true.
  5. one thing i promise to you though is that when times get hard, its U2 you run to first, and no one else.
