    Thanks Yeah.

Sounds a bit Beatles / Beach Boys - esque to me. Mellow and boring. I'm probably not hearing everything there is to hear in it, but for now, it doesn't sound all that impressive.

Thanks Ben and you for updating. Same kind of music as the first 4. A deep bass again too.

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with mellow, but boring - yes lol. I hope this isn't typical of what we're gonna be thrown with...
  5. Had a third listen to the clips, and the new album sounds quite promising, better than HTDAAB and ATYCLB, it retains the 2000s U2 sound while throwing in their 90s experimentation. And although from the band's comments I was expecting something similar, it still soundsfresh and interesting. The 1st clip (Here is What It Is apparently) is my favourite, what does everyone else like?

I'm also becoming quite interested in how the album will be received by the general public, will it be just another U2 album (that'll win a swag of Grammys and sell by the million), or can it reignite interest in U2, particularly from Gen Y. Seeing as the band set out to appeal to a wider audience with this album, I can't wait to see the general reaction.

Track 4, Only Love, has my interest. A lot of Eno in that one with a good melody and good work from Edge.

That one is my second favourite (perhaps only on basis of recording quality), Track 1's chorus is catchy though, and I love the rhythm: "And gravity, heal me, use me, that I may see”,
Sounds epic, with the Edge's soaring guitar.

1 is great too. From the original 4 songs, I dislike the 3th the most. But I an definately hear AB and Pop influences in these songs.
