  1. WOW! I didn't know your recovery was THAT dramatic. All the more to be proud of. And let me know if you get sick of talking about it too!

    Yeah, Mr.Z is in a band, has been in one band or another, sometimes two at a time, since I've known him. That's how we met actually. My high school boyfriend who I'd broken up with but was still friends with in college, was in a band with him! But he plays drums. He's played bass in other bands and just writes stuff and messes around on guitar. I envy his talent. I can read music but I can't 'play'. It's like being able to say words outloud without really understanding what they mean. But it's cool. I just wish I liked the music this particular band played better.

    uh-oh....what do they play? Metal? Punk? Tex-Mex?

    Don't worry, I don't get sick of talking about it....only in that it makes me realize how fortunate I am. (not in a "I love me" way.)
  3. Well, a few years back, their style of music was called 'Alt-Country' or 'Americana'. I call it crap.


    SonVolt and Wilco are a couple bands who have dabbled in the genre and don't suck. Don't get me wrong, they're great musicians. I just don't dig the sound. I hid it for a really long time but then finally 'fessed up. He understands and I try to make a gig once a year, just to, you know, be supportive and whatnot. And keep the groupies in check!!!

    So, maybe this is better served via PM (don't wanna talk too much about Miss C.) but she's an artist. She does collage art, and I noticed that it was one of your interests/hobbies. I should show you some of her stuff.....actually, she has a website.

    *warning: NERD ALERT* I actually did a whole set of U2 cards. I'm not an artist, per se, in that, much like my musical abilities, I can't create the original product so I take other media and 're-create'!

    Have I mentioned my love for the saying "Nerd Alert!!!"? (i know, bad punctuation there, but it looked even worse any other way.) At first, I was like "Artistic trading cards?!?" but then I got what you're saying....at least I think I did. Seems like a pretty cool idea!
  8. I was not aware of your love of the phrase but I'll put it in the stalker file. And, hang around me enough and you'll get to use it all the time.

    ATC's are miniature works of art, usually collage, on a piece of cardstock the size of a playing card. I did a 'deck' of U2 cards with another girl - each band member was a 'suit'. Here's one
