VLV is one huge, commercial, MAINSTREAM (I mean mainstream rock) release...

    too big? how?

Their album doesnt sound mainstream at all.

which band would want to stay a small......ant?

I don't think that the mainstream rock bands make their songs sound like ghost stories. Cemeteries of London, Lost, Yes, Chinese Sleep Chant and Death And All His Friends sound like ghost stories.

  3. I'm back> technical issues

I don't really know, it just seems so commercial, over the top. I don't have a really good reason for it, it just makes me feel that way...the songs are also quite depressing, it doesn't make me happy at all...

Radiohead, and by doing that they've become one of the greatest acts around.

    Staying small to become big!

  6. Radiohead is depressing too. but in a totally different way. Radiohead has been depressing all their career. I used to listen CP cause they made my happy, CP isn't a depressing band, it shouldn't be a part of their music.

  7. but why should Coldplay try to be like Radiohead when their music can fill arenas or even stadiums? it's still the same band when they play in a small club or MSG

actually in CP songs there's a breathe of optimism for the future

I think their music fits way better with smaller audiences. CP's music always has been very emotional and up close (Elevation-style lol).

  10. yeah that's what I mean...they used to be so happy, now they're talking about death and ghosts and all...

what does 'a smaller audience' mean?

  12. well I don't think that songs like The Scientist, Don't Panic, Trouble, A Warning Sign, Fix You, The Hardest Part, Talk or In My Place are very happy at all...
