1. Thanks Ron

Sound pretty good, think I prefer the old version but this isn't bad

I sincerely hope you can enjoy your collection for at least twice the time that's taken you to amass it.

What I do care about is the convenience of those reading the forum discussions, and -want it or not- having super long posts more and more often is unconvenient, even annoying for some. Since it annoyed me while I wanted to search for a specific post, I guessed that it would annoy others as well - I wasn't wrong, since other users have since expressed their agreement with my comment, both in public and private.

Moreover, we have a dedicated forum room for other artist bootlegs, and THAT is the place where non-U2 bootlegs should be shared; not in their artist discussion topics. We have hundreds of other artists bootlegs in separate threads for a reason; here's two good examples, from two artists you know very well: Bruce Springsteen - 2005-06-15 Frankfurt - Ex Aud andThe Police - 1979-11-29 - New York (The Palladium) FM Remaster. Having separated threads for bootlegs and artist discussion is the way to go, and the reason we have different forum rooms. That way, searching for a bootleg is automatic through our search system and one doesn't have to surf through hundreds of forum pages inside one only topic. Just in case you hadn't heard about that forum room, it's this one:

    Other artists recordings
For bootlegs of artists other than U2, also for U2 remixes.

So, I hereby invite you not to stop in your laudable purpose of increasing everyone else's bootleg collection. I myself have downloaded plenty of bootlegs from those you've posted, and I'm thankful for it as everyone else is (I guess). I only commented on the slight annoyance that's finding longer and longer posts on boards that use to be composed of short posts. Nothing more, nothing less. No criticism towards your praiseworthy sharing spirit, no criticism towards you personally.

right first of all apologies to everyone for that not being my final word on this tedious suject which as dylbagz so rightly put it is pathetic and as i said in various pms to people yesterday it is also ridiculous, stupid and embarrassing but since you don't want to leave the matter i might as well reluctantly reply. How you can accuse me of egotism and self-indulgence is mystifying - wouldn't i be begging thanks for every post rather than saying at the outset no thanks are necessary. Wouldn't i stop posting if the thanks weren't forthcoming? I know that some of those Bruce boots have been downloaded between 2000 and 4000 times on various forums. Would a self-indulgent egotist send in a disc containing if i remember rightly it's so long ago now seven u2 boots which aren't on here - including the fabled bowie and bono duet in cleveland 1990 - simply as thanks for all i've gained from here over the years only to see all but one never posted. You also seem to be ignoring other posters in this thread who have said they are happy with the longer posts - are you ignoring them because their opinion doesn't match yours - which you have cared to share with the forum 31,000 times - if that's not a sign of egotism and self-indulgence i don't know what is.

If you hadn't NOTICED i don't post in many other thread at all - i don't think i've even noticed the other place you mentioned and certainly never posted there (i rarely post in any thread on the internet which doesn't involve bootlegs) - both those links are dead by the way - i have been making long bootleg posts for the last 12 months though so i wonder why you failed to point me in it's direction earlier? or has it become a convenient get out for you in the hope that my supply of bootlegs won't be cut off - even the other week you had plenty of opportunity to say 'would you mind posting them over in that section'. Let's get this 100% straight there will be no more bootlegs and no more long posts from me on here.

while you are complaing about the annoyance of scrolling through long posts you may like to spare a thought for the people of the phillipines or syria.

    Perspective.
  3. Your lack of awareness of other forum rooms where things should be posted isn't my/our problem but yours. If you choose to keep on your way and not share all those fantastic bootlegs in the appopiate forum section, go ahead. Re-read everything and you'll NOTICE that I only asked you to post them in separate threads, not in this one. This is a U2 forum mostly and we have our rules and ways of working. Both things shall be observed. Simple as that.

    Discussion has finished.
  4. thanks and goodnight

  7. Did they even rehearse it before? Even if they did, I keep finding it amazing how they could play a song which they haven't played since ...?

Bono even manages to forget the lyrics to One while Bruce can remember every song haha.
