  1. I've listened to "Mercy" several times now, and I do NOT understand why this song wasn't included on the album. Most outtakes are outtakes for a reason (i.e. mostly not that good), but this song is simply amazing.

    Simply, because the song sags in the middle and isn't finished as yet.
  3. With a little more effort they could finish the song (if they haven't already...) and release it in the near future. Even if it were as a b-side for one of their next singles.

  5. Dude!?!?!? This sounds like an updated version of Mercy. IT SOUNDS AWESOME!!! Does this mean they are going to be playing this soon on the tour? Did they play it at the concert in Instanbul, or just during the rehearsal?

    I love that song. I wish they put it on HANOVER QUAY.


  6. Rehearsals don't necessarily mean the song will be played. So far on the 360 Tour, the following songs have been rehearsed but never played:

    Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
    Drowning Man
    Even Better Than The Real Thing
    Mofo
    If God Will Send His Angels
    Tryin To Throw Your Arms Around The World

    the fact that they r even playing it is great, ive been listening to this song everyday for the past week it needs to be on the new EP/ album

    To me, there's a difference between thinking of a song at the start of a tour and thinking of one mid-tour, and rehearsing them. Speaking from somewhat of an experience, being in a band myself, when we build a setlist, we try and dodge new things left and right- some for longer than others before their ditched. But once we got a solid setlist going, and we practice it and perform it over and over again, if we've played a set for a few shows and a new tune pops into rehearsal, it's got WAY more of a shot of getting played. If we're wasting time rehearsing it mid-"tour" (like U2 are; we never went "on tour") 5 or 6 times, it's because we want to play it- not because we're just thinking about it.

    But who knows...Only time will tell..

    The original could have been a really great song if Bono had sung it better. Or different at least. It's got a great drum&bass work, the guitar is a bit weaker but good anyway... It's only the vocals, the vocals...

    PS. Do you remember, at the very beggining of U2start, when you got angry at me and sent me some kind of rant-email with "You should be called LikeACock!!" or something like that? I don't know why but I can't find it in my inbox, please search yours. It was funny
