1. "Dancing Queen" could be simply cut from the show with little overall effect on the show. I still think they could make a "Best of ZooTV" compilation and work around the snippets.

It would be the thing that U2 should do. They do a lot of talking but haven't really done anything like this since the "One" single, no?
  2. We have the announcement, we have the microsite and no one seems to know the exact content of those DVD's. Why is there no tracklisting?

Could it be possible that Sydney has been reworked into a widescreen version? Are we really talking about the same release? What about the extra DVD in the Sydney package? I hope this will not end up as the bonus DVD in the Achtung package.

  3. thanks for the links, im pretty sure i have the video torrent somewhere. i'll have to suss it out.
  4. Alrighty fellas. Bit the bullet and pre-ordered the uber deluxe edition. I thought it was going to be around 450, but it's 300, so I said "sold!".

Here's the description, it seems to be that this edition is a limited one?

Extremely limited numbered šber Deluxe Edition is a magnetic puzzle tiled box contains six CDs including the original Achtung Baby album, the follow-up album, Zooropa, b-sides and re-workings of previously unheard material recorded during the Achtung Baby sessions. Four DVDs including "From The Sky Down", Zoo TV, all the videos from Achtung Baby plus bonus material. Also includes five clear seven inch vinyl singles in their original sleeves, 16 art prints taken from the original album sleeve, an 84-page hardback book, a copy of Propaganda magazine, four badges, a sticker sheet, and a pair of Bono's trademark "The Fly" sunglasses. Band members sold separately.

  5. "Band members sold separately."

    What?
  6. You can buy one of the members for at home for one day, you didnt know that?
  7. At these prices we should get TWO days.
  8. Honestly guys, 300 isn't that outrageous for that uber deluxe set.

Think about, how much would 6 CDs cost at a music store? Let's say 20 bucks each, that's 120 bucks. Now 4 DVDs, lets say 20 bucks each again (on average), that's 80. We get the Fly shades, granted, they aren't the same propoganda ones probably as the collectors ones you see on ebay, but those go for around 100 bucks on ebay. Those 16 posters usually go for a high value, becuase they're also a collectors thing. Let's say those are worth 80. Then you get a book (lets say 20) a vintage magazine (30) and 5 vinyls (who knows, lets say 150). Not to mention the stickers, badges, and box, which will also be counted as collectors stuff.

Basically, at the value that everything would be worth, this thing could be normally priced at around 600.00. That's the way I'm looking at it. I'm getting 600 bucks worth of stuff for 300. If anybody really thinks that uber deluxe set should be a lot less than 300, well, that's just plain dumb.

I hear what you are saying. My rationale for staying away from the super/uber editions is: I have most of the official DVD's by U2 but never watch them - I just listen to audio rips of them - ALL THE TIME; I "get" why people like vinyl but I do not have a turntable so I have no use for the LP's; and I'm NOT a collector of memorabilia (although, as I stated in an earlier post, I'd like a pair of those shades) as I am very anti "stuff" - if that makes any sense. I may be pushing it here but there is a good chance I wouldn't buy the uber edition if it were only $100.

The two-disc deluxe edition will have to do and thanks to "noiseless" I won't complain about the DVD anymore .

    SYDNEY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    Sorry. It's a beautiful city.
  10. There have been references to a single CD re release of AB and Zooropa, but am wondering if there will be a 2CD release of Zooropa.

It seems AB has certainly stolen Zooropa's thunder and it would have been nice to see the artwork combined a little bit (after all they both had tiled artwork.).

I'm really wanting to finally get my hands on a version of the Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car perfecto remix). and this would have had to be the best opportunity to get it. I've had it before but the quality was soo bad that I've obviously not saved it.

The soundtrack versions to Sta and Wanderer would have been good too.

Anyway, does anyone know anymore about Zooropa's releases.
  11. ^^^ hopefully they pay Zooropa the respect it deserves in 2013, cuz like u said these releases r pretty much all AB-ish.
  12. I really doubt that Zooropa will get it's own big release. Not because it doesn't deserve it, but because it wasn't a huge breaking point for U2 like AB was, it didn't have as many singles that have lasted over the years, and it's also included with this remaster. I can't see them re-releasing it twice.

I was hoping for a big ZooTV box, rather than being about both albums, make it about the whole era. But ah well. I'm not complaining.
