  1. Maybe but I wouldn't count on it. I think it may get tossed aside like R&H has - so far, anyway.

  2. It'd be a theoretical waste of money to remaster that/give it its own release. The only reason Pop won't get snubbed is because they'll probably promote the hell out of it on the next tour, like they tried to with TUF/AB on 360. Hell, I won't mind that...but mark my words, Pop's re-release will not be anything special. Why pour more money into something that didn't make you anything the first time around?

  4. It's a good reissue. But it coud've been MUCH better. I'm of course excited for the alternate mixes of the tracks and some b-sides, although U2 b-sides and outtakes are almost never that great. But I'm really wondering who came up with the idea to put Sydney on it. As far as I'm concerned that dvd went on to do pretty well since the release on DVD. So everyone who's gonna buy this reissue has already seen it.

    And about Zooropa... yes, that's really, really sad.
  5. Pretty good lineup (apart from the ZooTV DVD everyone has), but I agree Zooropa should get more love. It's Achtung's offspring but it has its own identity and more attention should have been given to that. Jeez, I'd kiss Mr McGuiness' feet if one of the DVDs was a MacPhisto tribute!

  8. Honestly I'm pretty happy with that reissue. The only way it could've been LOADSSSSzzzZZ better is if they put a bootleg concert on it, but even then it's not a HUGE loss because most of us already have those too, a lot of people seem to forget that. Would've been nice to see one remastered like the Paris concert though. Another shame is that Tryin' To Throw Your Arms still didn't make the release. As much as it is only one song, the absence of it changes the whole dynamic of the show for me when watching the Sydney dvd, when compared to watching other ZooTV shows. It was the most fun tune on the entire tour, taken out of the official concert dvd. Shame.

    Another thing they could've done better was either omit Zooropa and give it it's own reissue complete with b-sides and stuff, or throw in a 7th disc full of b-sides and remixes from Zooropa. But even then, as others have said, the majority of U2 B-Sides aren't that great anyway.

    I'm curious about the "baby" tracks. I feel like if they were demos, they'd be labelled "early demos". I have a hard time believing that every single song on Achtung Baby had a really rough cut before becoming what they are now. One or two of them had to be released the way they were first written.
  9. I think the "baby disc" is early edits or alternate lyrics. Look at track lengths. Some are longer then final album.
    Also think of Best of 90-2000. Remember Myster Ways had different lyrics on a verse.
  10. Those "Baby" versions of AB songs will be VERY different from final recordings as well as from Berlin "Salome" sessions. They are probably from Dublin part of recording of Achtung Baby. For example look at Love is Blindness which is over 7 minutes long! This "Baby" CD is the thing i'll cannot wait for!

  12. I'd pay the full price just for the Baby Achtung Baby disc and From the Sky Down.
