    Cha-Ching! $$

I read in the Wall Street Journal that the tie-up between Ticketmaster & Live Nation may usher in something called 'flex pricing,' where tickets are cheaper the further out you buy them and more expensive the longer you wait. I'm not sure that'll come to pass, or even if it does whether it will apply to U2 or just tougher-to-sell shows.

I think stadium shows would offer more affordable tickets, if only because there are so many more 'bad' seats in a stadium versus an arena.

  2. Or maybe
    Leg 1: Europe
    Leg 2: Australia/Japan
    Leg 3: South America
    Leg 4: North America
    Leg 5: Europe again?
To make America as late as possible?

I wish Australia was the 2nd leg! Never gonna happen though as we are hearing rumors of US Dates and I'm sure something would have leaked overhere by now. If the album leaks in Australia then so do the dates!

  4. Reminded me of the John Lennon quote "..For our last number, I'd like to ask your help. The people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And the rest of you, just rattle your jewelry" --- Royal Variety Performance in 1963...
  5. I think it's high time that U2 opens a world tour in Europe- I am in the U.S., but I think it's the Europeans' turn- we've been lucky enough to have the first legs of the last several tours. Christ- Vertigo, Elevation, Popmart, Zoo TV, Joshua Tree- all these tours started in the U.S.A.!

The bottom line is that pretty much all of us are wondering what will be announced on March 9. And, just as importantly, how the hell they will handle any presale/GA issues. Most of us remember how "smoothly" everything went last tour....Well, here's hoping!

  6. any scots joining me at hampden on august 18th for U2?

  7. Would have preferred Murrayfield as Hampden is a shithole. At least the concert is at a decent time of year and not midsummers day as the last one was. Might even see the screens and lightshow this time as it should be darker.

Actually I don't care where they open the tour as long as they come to NZ again!
