    In my opinion: yes. I know what you mean though, I listen MOS a lot at the moment. But in the end i think One is just better.
  3. Cant' agree. The Camp Nou almost fell down, the version was more than OK and it had tons of energy. Can't talk about Dublin though.

    And as you point out; I think everyone has its personal favorites lyrics. Actually, I personally think MOS is deeper, lyrically, than One. Zooropa, Dirty Day and When I Look At The World have my favorite lyrics, but someone else chooses Wild Honey, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and Wake Up Dead Man....doesnt mean one is right and another is wrong...

    Taste and subjective judgement aren't right or wrong, it's true. But they may be good or bad.

    it never took me to that other place that I though it certainly would have. It rocked certainly but something just wasn't there. The red lights and the (not so bright) flash was back. Probably Tutu's fault.

    I have goosebumps on my back when I hear a good Streets blasting out of the stereo..now I was standing under The Claw, red screen, minor flash, U2 on stage...and there was no magic. Missed it too.
  8. I don't get Streets live. Like MoS is clearly better when performed live than on the album, for me the album version of Streets is better than any live version I've heard. It's something about the atmosphere and 'tightness' of their playing on the album version. The live versions don't really add anything to the song either unlike MoS for example which gets a fantastic new bassline live.

    Actually that's not entirely true. Adam changes up the bass a bit and makes it pretty groovy during Streets. He did it in Toronto and I've also noticed it on the PopMart and Elevation DVDs.

    Have you heard the rooftop gig from March 1987? That's the most 'album-like' Streets versions. I agree about the 'thightness', but the atmosphere of Streets live is among the best feeling you can ever had. Even if it's just a 'decent' version. Album version of Streets is for me almost a different song. Hard to explain; a masterpiece of course. Both album and live is just extraordinary.


    WOWY on the other hand have never been good live as on the album version.

    Agree with you about streets being almost a different song live and on the album version

    Completely disagree about WOWY, the versions from the Joshua Tree tour are unbeatable. They're what made me fall in love with the song, especially when you throw Shine Like Stars into the mix.

    WOWY from now is a far cry from the WOWY back then indeed..what a difference
