By 22 pm it will be nearly dark (dusk) and the little light there is won't do shit to the filming and experience.

    You'd know better than me...

And Jake, I completely agree, it should be awesome wherever it's filmed BUT I've just thought about Drew's point re. leaving it 'til last - the 4th leg during Vertigo was a bit drab if you think about the quality of Bono's voice...if they're gonna film it, I reckon it should be now whilst Bono's on what seems to be fine form.

Leaving it until later for getting it right...leaving it until the vocals are dead in the water...

These are easily the best live vocals, right now, as I've said previously in 20 years. A little rough, but has Bono ever had the greatest vocals?

And Drew, I agree, a proper South American DVD release would be something special, crowds there are insane however, I wouldn't mind them doing Cardiff...

You should get up there and play on Wild Horses with them. That's the reason I bet.

Yes, it's pretty bad. The ArenA has a roof that can be closed, but even if it's open the construction generates nasty echos.
During Vertigo the roof was closed because it was expected to rain. Horrible mistake. Sunshine all over, extremely hot inside. I was standing close to the stage where the sound was decent, a friend of mine standing halfway the field wasn't very happy about it.
Anyway thanks to the Claw it seems to be impossible to close the roof this time.
Last time I've been there was in July 2007 (the Police). Sound was a lot better then as they used some sort of big sound absorbing plates attached to the roof.

But it doesn't make filming impossible Call me childish but I really hope

The sound in Brussels was also crap.

And damn I sure hope they're gonna film in Wembley. (I'm going )

Both Zagreb shows were sold out within 4 hours!

  6. I think the Amsterdam and Gothenburg shows come way too early for possible releases on dvd. They'd probably want to wait until they've refined their setlist and performance of songs. Amsterdam July 21st is only the tenth show of the tour: compared to Elevation and Vertigo that would be the 2001-04-13 Vancouver and 2005-04-15 Glendale shows. And Gothenburg August 1st is the 15th show, so that would be 2001-04-20 San Jose and 2005-04-28 Vancouver. So both shows are imo too early for dvd release. Vertigo Chicago were the earliest show in the tour to be released in dvd as 18th and 19th, and that's exactly the Zagreb shows. Though I believe that if they're even gonna release a 1st leg show, it will be a UK one.

But I reckon they're gonna wait longer this time around. While the Elevation and Vertigo shows were relatively basic and unscheduled, the U2 360 Tour reminds more of Zoo TV and PopMart. And both tours had very late shows on dvd, which is not weird, considering how important it is to bring the show elements to perfection when you release a show on dvd. Since Europe and the US will both have another leg around the same time of year (only switched the other way around) in 2010, I think it would be the wise decision to film a dvd then.

Well, I agree, the thing that makes Bono Bono when he's performing is as much the passion he puts into it as the vocals. Some PopMart and Elevation shows, he was digging up every ounce just to keep himself going but that more than made up for the limitations his voice was going through at that time. Right now, I'd say he's found a great balance - his voice is in fine form right now but like Ger said after the first show, he's got that hunger which adds so much. Get a DVD shot ASAP I say, no pissing around with editing etc., just shoot it warts'n'all.

Now THAT, as they say, is a plan. Hmm...

I dunno why but it looks photoshopped lol...it just doesn't look real, which I guess is the beauty behind the whole setup - it's pretty unique and out of this world. Awesome stuff
