Bums on seats + $$, doesn't matter if they are lively are not. I am not slagging off Americans and admit to heaviily generalizing so no need to take anything personal

Age has nothing to do with it.

I know you didnt say that. But you said Americans just watch shows, meaning the shows are boring.I saw Oasis at Wembley in 2000,it was amazing.I also saw Bruce Springsteen in New Jersey many times. The Bruce show was the loudest I have ever been to.Bruce is from NJ.Oasis are from England so I think that has ALOT to do with it.I also caught Radiohead both nights at Earls Cout Nov 2003.The shows were better there,no question.DMB here in the States is played stadiums here.U2 in Ireland must be amazing. But to say we only "watch" the shows. Not true. But I was just tslking about setlists..not Countries. As I said,I love Europe,I would never slag it off. Both of my grandmothers are from Ireland and I have been lucky enough to have visited the Motherland many times. But I have not seen U2 there yet.Anyway, cheers mate.Love your site.

I found U2 in Ireland a little underwhelming
  3. I think there ARE differences between European and American countries, but mostly due to the country. U2 only play 2/3 concerts in every European country...they play 23/24 concerts in the country United States Of America.

Even tough the European Union is active now doesnt mean the old borders aren't still active

I guess you got me wrong. Yes, on one hand, I pointed out that Americans are not as good crowd as they possibly could be, but I generally meant that U2's stadium releases work much better. Therefore they should stick with stadiums and not play arenas any time soon.

    Oh dear.

Back to setlists now I suppose.

Your Blue Room needs to go. It's nice they dared to play it, but a rocker like The Fly or Even Better Than The Real Thing would fit the show much better.

there maybe a very valid point there. Same country for a whole leg versus very different people and cultures every night of a leg.

We can open a topic for further debate if wanted

  6. You also said that there weren't enough Irish in the crowd. 80,000 Irish people at Croke might not have been as underwhelming to you. Also sounds like a good topic for more discussion (hopefully friendly)

was my first time seeing U2 in Ireland and wasn't as I had expected
  8. I really hate hearing how American audience aren't as good. I seen u2 over 10 time in NY n the crowds were amazing. And u can't judge from a DVD because of the way it's shot n the audio mix always contains barely any audience. I will say that EVERY audience isn't as good as it used to be because of technology. IMHO without camera phones, video, audio recorders every audience would be better cuz everyone would just enjoy the concert instead trying to catch that perfect shot the whole night. Of course then we wouldn't have bootlegs, pics, real time setlist etc.... So it's a catch 22. God bless technology n I don't know wat I would do without it but I feel this def affects audiences. I caught myself doing it n put my phone away immediately n got lost in the music.
  9. it won't get played but it's surely time for FEZ-BEING BORN to be introduced to the set. just been listening to it and how awesome would this be, the lights down, before it kicks in
