1. I'm a big RH fan and not really a Christian but are we really comparing TY to JC?

I'm not sure if the two-album mix was intentional or not but they do sound good together. I'm not sure about the 10-second cross fade either. Unless, I;m doing something wrong, I think it ruins a few of the songs. For example, Paranoid Android ends way too soon. I think a little Nero editting might make the compilation a bit more appealing.

Update: Just found the info I was looking for. Puddlegum (some music blog) wrote an article about this back in about 07, after which Thom Yorke had Puddlegum contacted to talk to them about it, saying he was having fun watching people have no clue what he had done, congratulating them on putting together "what he had left right in front of their faces"...and, another quote from Puddlegum, about their correspondence with Yorke, that seems to help solidify this, "It seems to annoy him that no one ‘gets it’ yet, given the mountain of clues.”

I just heard that that quote from Thom Yorke was never confirmed.

  3. Yeah, in this day and age who knows who confirming what. The whole "10" idea, although interesting, can really be done by simply manipulating numerolgy in a certain way - kinda like statistical manipulation...really not a hard thing to do. I will say, once again, I do like the mix.
  4. Any thoughts on the new single (Butcher/Supercollider) they be releasing on "Record Store Day." Kind of like "Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane" was to Sgt. Pepper's or "Hey Jude/Revolution" was to The White Album.

Who here is offended that I compared Radiohead (or any band for that matter - aside from U2) to The Beatles?
  5. i haven't heard the songs yet even if i think the releases have and had different purposes.
anyway coming to your question .. me
not to be offended but .. as far as i can love Radiohead the comparison turns up my nose a bit

ps: in my world Beatles/John Lennon-Clash-U2 should never be mixed with others

All always love U2 and Radiohead best because they are from my generation. However, objectively (and subjectively, I suppose) speaking, nobody can touch John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
  7. what about theory i read that the supposed sequel of Limbs could be other but some single releases like Butcher/Supercollider?
the tree and the branches ...
  8. great Thom

I like this theory. Seems like a very cool way of doing things and RH are usually good about being cool - for a bunch of nerds (like myself).
  10. got to say KOL is growing on me, gave it time between listens, probably around 10 listens all the way through each time so far, it is still too short. i find it similar in listening to in Rainbows, but the bonus disc of IR is killer and that is what seems to be lacking here...though last time i listened to KOL, OK computer came on right after it and there is no comparison there! But, i think radiohead is the only band i don't care what the setlist is going to be in concert, i just know it will be mind blowing!

got to throw Dylan in there, otherwise none of the others could have done what they did, no? I mean he has sooo much material that if one starts digging they will surely find as many mindblowing songs/lyrics/arrangements as any other band or artist, IMO.

Listened to KOL today for the first time since giving it a rest a few weeks ago...

It's still a "no" for me.
