1. I just got confirmation that my tickets were refunded on my Visa.

    Bummer...no show for me.
  2. so confirmed the postponement of 7 european dates

    Hello everyone,

As you will probably have heard the roof over the stage collapsed at our show in Toronto killing crew member Scott Johnson and injuring three other crew members. The collapse also destroyed the light show – this show was unique and will take many weeks to replace. The collapse also caused serious damage to our backline, some elements of which are decades old and therefore hard to replace.

Whilst we all are dealing with the grief and shock ensuing from this terrible accident there are also many practical considerations to deal with & consequently we have to try and reschedule the following shows:

    June
    30 Roma Hippodrome Capanelle

    July
    1 Firenze Parco delle Cascine
    3 Bologna Arena Parco Nord
    4 Codroipo Villa Manin
    6 Berlin Wuhlheide
    7 Berlin Wuhlheide
9 St Triphon Carriere des Andonces

We aim to announce the new dates for these shows on Wednesday 27th of June and will also supply information on how to obtain refunds on tickets if you cannot come to the show on the new date.

We will start playing live again at Les Arenes Nimes, Bilbao BBK festival and Lisbon Optimus Alive festival.

We will make every effort to offer the fans the very best show possible under the circumstances – thanks for your understanding and support.

  5. So i'm just starting to get into Radiohead right about now and am wondering what i should get after first. I have a greatest hits album but from what I understand that's really not the greatest way to experience the band. Anyone have any recommendations where I should start?
  6. I started about a year and a half ago getting into them big time. I started with OK Computer, then Kid A. A few months after that I got In Rainbows and The Bends around the same time. Those four are the must haves, in my opinion. I knew Karma Police and Creep and that's about it. I knew the first time I listened to OKC all the way through that I would love this band, though. I was expecting Kid A to be a little out there (and it is), but after a few listens, I loved it as well. I think starting with The Bends would work as well. Its definitely the most straightforward of those four albums.

Definitely go with albums over individual songs or greatest hits. The reason their greatest hits album isn't good is the record company did it without their input, so it's made more in the interest of making money rather than showing people how great the band is. Also you might want to get a bootleg or two. I found their 1997 Glastonbury show easily, and it's a great performance.

Those four albums I mentioned are among the best in the past 20 years, and the music is diverse enough that you should be able to find something you like. I loved all of it, and ended up getting almost all their other stuff, but I'll always come back to those four.

    Hope this helps.
  7. ^What he said...unless you want to do the albums chronologically, of course.

I've stated before that those four albums are all "five-star" albums. Radiohead is the only band from my lifetime (and I'm pushing 40) that have released four albums of this calibre.

The Bends, Ok Computer & In Rainbows. If you like those, then you're ready for their more unconventional efforts like Kid A and Amnesiac.
  9. Thanks for the input guys. I'm starting with OK Computer and The Bends based on all discussion i've seen they're the most accessible/arguably the best...I've been watching some live stuff too which i have found pretty enjoyable up to this point. I'm looking forward to exploring more of their stuff.
  10. In terms of live stuff from the OK Computer/The Bends era(s), listen to MTV Ten Spot (or something like that) from December of 1997. It's solid....very solid.
  11. So so far after going through OK Computer, The Bends, and In Rainbows, OK Computer is my favorite. Have to say my favorite song is still There there though....if i told that to a legit Radiohead fan how would they react?
  12. Any way you cut it "There There" is a fantastic song. For me, however, it's difficult to say where I'd rank it amongst songs like "Paranoid Android" or "Street Spirit" since I listened to every Radiohead album as it was released. That's the great thing about the band, I suppose.
