Got it today, and it's absolutely brilliant - thanks so much!

Those on this forum who are criticising it: I suggest you watch it before reaching any conclusions!

Gen - if you do edit a second leg show, then I'll be first in line to pick up a copy!
  2. I will be watching the post tomorrow!
Hoping for the dvd to arrive.
    Thanks in advance!
  3. Wow, judging by that Youtube clip, this looks pretty #%@$ing brilliant.

Is there any chance someone could convert it to NTSC and re-upload? I know that's asking A LOT, but I really want this dvd and i'm situated in Canada.

    Hi

you need to ask one of the guys here who have the dvd for NTSC uploads...hopefully it will be done...and done right.

  5. Yeah. I just really want this DVD! It looks amazing! I was kind of hesitant about the idea at first, but it honestly just looks like it captures the 360 tour perfectly. You can't argue with great camera shots and great audio, even if they are from different sources.

That YT preview is a little misleading, though. It looks brilliant indeed. But, as the title suggests - it shows the highlights only. The full DVD can't compete with it when it comes to image quality, camera positions,...

so i guess every trailer for a film is also misleading?...why would i show all?...in-balance the highlights show very much what the dvd contains...and the dvd contains alot more!...what it does not contain is 100% all good....but then again not many dvd`s, albums, books do!....
the highlights for me do not show the best of the dvd, they show some of the dvd...image quality on YT is this way because of the reduced image size...but it is sourced from the dvd!!!...an on the whole i actually think the image quality considering its handheld cams is pretty good...the better shots are the ones where fans have been able to support the camera`s as opposed to holding the cams...but then again try getting a tripod into gigs!...

this is not a replacement for any official release, far from it!...but it does capture the shows very well from the european tour pretty well...and for fans who attended these shows a reminder of a great set of gigs...and thats what it was designed to do.

  8. Trailers are always the best parts from a video. Not more than logical, they are supposed to attract viewers

A film trailer is a totally different category.

And I didn't say you're trying to fool anyone or something. You clearly mentioned, that it shows the highlights, so that's all good.

The same passages that are pixellated on YT are also pixellated on the DVD. That's either due to the transfer or to the source material taken from YT.
As I've said before, there are better DVDs from this tour - the advantage of the one you made clearly is the sound - huge problem is that it doesn't feel like an individual concert and that the picture quality varies from excellent to poor.

Your last passage brings this thing a little more down to earth, since you seem to take a step back from praising this DVD as being superior to any other stuff from this leg and being close to an official DVD. Seems way more realistic now.

It's a nice little project, great editing, pointless concept (in my opinion). I'd be curious about what you might be able to do with a project like Berlin for example, though.

  10. This is by far the most interesting discussion of the last months.

I think you both are right
  11. Got mine yesterday, watched it all the way through and thoroughly enjoyed it.

  12. lets just say its not for the purists!,,,or maybe puristo`s!...
