1. What about Guns N' Roses or Red Hot Chili Peppers?
  2. I haven't checked out many bands at all

I could probably get some ideas from listening to this that's lying on the desktop.

  3. Recommended ChiDem a few posts up. Not sure if he's into that orchestra / hard rock / nu-metal stuff though.

I see the Stones and KISS listed on that box.

KISS are a hard band to recommend because they're so cheesy (compilation, don't get the studio albums without knowing what you're in for) but the Stones...you gotta get a hold of Exile at the very very least, then Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Some Girls and Bigger Bang. Though you can get a compilation of the Stones (Rolled Gold is fantastic) and get a real feel for them.

  4. I was thinking more Appetite for Destruction, to be honest. I never listened to Chinese Democracy after the crap reviews that everyone gave it. I think you were the only person that actually liked it.

Led Zeppelin - go for them. Everyone likes them.
  5. ChiDem was alright if you got it, but it's hard to get. Not physically get the album, just musically Just incase someone misinterpreted it.
Would definitely recommend Appetite For Destruction for a straight edge, raw rock album.

Depends if you don't mind change, you might like it. But Axl took so long to get the fucker out there, nobody really gave a shit when it came out. Editing issues and stupid lyrics aside. I'd definitely recommend Appetite, the two Illusions and Lies. I hate Spaghetti Incident...horrible album and I can't even get past that first song, the whatever it was called.

Led Zep of course!!! ZOSO you have to get. Also try and get a hold of Aerosmith's Honkin' On Bobo, Rocks, Draw The Line, Toys, Get Your Wings and the first record. I'd recommend some Alice Cooper too.
  7. Now I feel kinda overwhelmed with all of your suggestions
  8. It's alight, just have reviews on all of them by Saturday
  9. This too:

One of my all-time favourite records from 1994.
  10. The next time I see Chinese Democracy for £2 or £3 in shops, I'm going to buy it, because I never had the chance to actually listen/buy it.

Btw, Mothership by Led Zeppelin (their greatest hits) 2CD is £4.49. That is a bargain. Definitely go for it!

Black Ice by ACDC was pretty good too, despite the fact half the songs sound the same. Well worth a listen. Both the Savage Garden albums are excellent but I'd definitely start with the first.

  12. Hahah I don't think they'll even have arrived by then

I think I've decided on Absolution, Origin of Symmetry and HAARP from Muse, and American Idiot from Green Day. That puts me at 16.96, so I'd say two more albums

I gotta have something to discover another time
