    You might be right.
What I don't get is why they've stopped playing the new songs (Every Breaking Wave - North Star - Mercy - Glastonbury - Return Of The Stingray Guitar etc.).
They were so getting into it. Mercy and North Star sounded splendid live.
Or they're afraid to play it in front of American crowds, who might get bored more quickly, or they stopped believing in the songs. And the latter might indeed be a sign for the death of Songs of Ascent.

I like eveyone of those new songs (even glastonbury), so if they shelve all of them i will be pretty pissed, especially since i rate them higher then half the songs on NLOTH

The new songs got dropped in S. America... it's not an American thing that they're boring its just that they got replaced by older (and much better) songs.

Perhaps that they felt that they didn't really belong in the 360 show, which I completely agree with. It was great hearing some new U2 material for the first time in the middle of a gig, but to hear Edge and Bono break into an acoustic ballad in the middle of a power-housed set full of hits and fan favourites was just sort of mehhhh.

I'd rather hear U2 play a monster set of great songs than try out songs half-assed live. Every Breaking Wave should be done justice, it sounds so great already, and I'd rather wait to hear a more complete version of it. Same goes for North Star. Mercy was never meant to go anywhere, it was just a thought by Willie Williams, and who knows what Stingray was supposed to be. I think that was them trying to come up with an opener when they couldn't find one of their own songs that would fit. Luckily it seems they've landed on the perfecto mix of real thing, which fits the bill PERFECTLY.

Ultimately, I don't mind waiting to hear the new songs. I don't think it has anything to do with the patience or tolerance of North American crowds, that's being prejudiced, and I don't think they stopped believing in their work. They just did an interview where they discussed a new album and all that. Maybe they just want to finish off this tour playing the songs everyone has come ot know and love, and they'll work on new stuff later.

A lot less, true, North Star was played twice, Stingray once, North America seemed to be the final punch.

I just don't get why they were always saying "when we'll be back in N. America, we'll have a whole bunch of new songs ready to play for ya" in interviews, after Bono's surgery. But they did change their mind didn't they.

Bassist Adam Clayton recently confirmed that the band had stopped working with RedOne. Now Guetta claims that after an initial meeting with Bono, the pair have not spken since. "We actually met with Bono and we spoke about it," Guetta told Billboard.

"He announced it in some of his interviews so I started to announce it, too, because he spoke about it, and then we never spoke again. So it might happen one day, I would love to, but he kind of disappeared."

U2 are currently working on sessions with Danger Mouse and are planning to release a new album next year.

    And Mercy is new?!

  11. It's not an re-arrangment of two songs

  12. They could include Winter on the new album too. I know it was in Linear and that film "Brothers" but it hasn't been released on a real album as of yet
