    You might be a fan of the wrong band. U2 has several "preachy" songs in their repertoire, many of them being fan favorites. If Bono's not getting in your face with some of his songs, he's not doing his job.

    I'm now remembering the Vertigo Tour gig where Bono tells a fan to get off his phone during SBS. Preachy Bono is best Bono.

    Agree with you. Preaching has been a essential part of this band (conceptually and in live performances) since the early 80s.
  2. Also, I'd say that "Live, Love, Teach" is an EXPONENTIALLY better title than the rumored "10 Reasons To Exist."

    Still, from the looks of things it seems like the U2 camp is finally getting the hype started, albeit it's coming from sources except the band themselves, but I feel that's their style.

  7. Thanks - sounds good indeed. Nice tweets. But let's be careful: Paul McGuinness once said of the NLOTH sessions that U2 were sounding like the Beatles of the Sgt Peppers era (and, he forgot to add, that my grandmother, who's now 94, looks like Magic Johnson)...
  8. I agree with Jujuman. While these tweets have me uber excited for the new album, I'm still careful to keep a middle grounded, open minded expectation of how U2 will sound like. I raised my expectations prior to NLOTH after hearing how "reinventing" it was gonna be and comparison to Achtung Baby, which of course while not bad, it didn't meet those high expectations of mine so I was left fairly disappointed with No Line.

    Won't make the same mistake here. Just enjoy the music.

  10. We've heard some of that Achtung Baby comparison prior to release of NLOTH...

    But I'm very optimistic because they work with Danger Mouse, they've been in comfort zone way too long with Eno and Lanois.
  11. I wouldn't describe my position as "optimistic", more like "interested". I agree that working with different people always opens minds and gets you to explore new things - Danger Mouse is not exactly my cup of tea but it will undoubtedly bring some fresh air.
