"We're nearly there, I think, though this can change. There is no sense from the band of any commitment to any release, schedule, to anything. They just want really to make some great music. But I think we're nearly there and once we're there we'll know it. I'd like to think that next year there will be a U2 release. It sounds like we have been faffing around but actually what's just happened is we've just got lost in the music and went right back to why we wanted to be in a band in the first place, listening to the music of the mid 70s, punk rock, electronic. We're really sort of beginning again. I know we do this periodically but you have to. So it's very different, very fresh sound and some beautiful songs, some big hooks. Yeah. So you'll be sick of us - I hope!"
  2. Sorry about that then
  3. I guess this isn't about when but if a new U2 album will be released...
  4. Take care God Bless to new U2 album in 2013.

From the sound of it 2014 may be a pipe dream as well.

  5. I said that it's much harder, not impossible. Out of 100 artists, probably 99 will face the problems I described. Bruce Springsteen being the other 1. But that's why he's The Boss.

Doesn't seem Bono spends a lot of time on the music though
    But I understand your point
(And most work is probably done by Edge, Larry and Adam...)
  7. I think Bono is trolling.
  8. Two options

    1) they are not convinced that their new material is good enough to release

    2) they are at this moment convinced it's good enough but they want to see if it's still good enough in a few months because they thought NLOTH was good enough at the time but it turned out it wasn't - they don't want to make a rushed decision because it has been nearly 5 years
  9. I just don't want NLOTH to be their last work.
