Plácido Domingo, one of the best opera singers of all time. Close friends with Pavarotti btw (and Bono as well I guess)

Great news about the confirmation of the Samuel Becket ("and other 4 locations") filming, now let's hope they're happy with the album -assuming it's finished- and nothing changes so we can get the new, long-craved-for material.

Indeed, a great, great opera tenor. Oh well - provided the album is out soon...
  3. About expectations: it can't be any worse than the first airing of Boots.
  4. A shame about the iTunes festival. Placido Domingo is a surprising but great choice though.
  5. I was fucking ecstatic to see Boots performed on the Grammys, and it didn't disappoint as far as I' was concerned. The staging was amazing. Not to take anything away from the 360 staging, obviously, but I think the song's live performances plummeted on that tour. Grammys will always be my favorite version of it live. It was more intense and a little bit caged in.

Agree completely! The intro and Bono's stage presence had something very Zoo TV about it and a swagger that wasn't present on the previous tour/era. After it became a very "safe" performance on 360 imo.
  7. I didn't mind Boots when I first witnessed it on the Brits. I was a little disturbed by Bono's eye makeup but otherwise it was okay. I can't listen to it anymore, it sounds dreadful and dated already. It is just a Vertigo wannabe but with hideously cringeworthy lyrics. I mean, 50-year-old men singing about "sexy boots"? Come on, imagine them performing that song grey haired with a zimmer in ten years time - it would be catastrophic. They need to throw it in the fire and burn it indefinitely now; don't play it again live.
  8. Get On Your Boots is awesome
