Pop!Edge was a thing of beauty. He was rocking the irony in a big way and it doesn't get any better than that for me.
  4. I still love POP and POPMART. Love the voalc ans lyrics o POp and WOW! You could not get better value for your buck than POPMART! Great fun!
  5. Pop/PopMart = the last great era of U2
  6. great album! I love it!

  7. Elevation was...that's the true end, my friend. PopMart was a stroke of genius
  8. Wow!

I didn't realise there was so much love for Popmart and Pop.

Popmart was the first tour I saw (2 Wembley gigs and Murrayfield) and I thought it was a little 'distant' compared to Elevation (my favourite tour so far). I know the 2 are difficult to compare as one is stadium and the other arena, but still, I expected more when I first saw them. And by the way, for the first show I ever saw I was on the fence at the corner of the main stage/walkway to the b-stage.

I thought Vertigo was dissappointing but is more enjoyable to listen to now due to the variety.

As for 360, its not over! I was at Cardiff and will be at Frankfurt next year (ticket in my sock drawer already!!!). I think if they could just add some of the variety they had in Vertigo tour to the second half of the setlists so far it would be the best ever.

    In conclusion -

    Popmart - 8/10
    Elevation - 10/10
    Vertigo - 7.5/10
    360 - 9/10 (so far)
  9. Pop is the only U2 cd I could easily do without. I really, really don't like it. There are a few songs on it that I like, but as an album it really puts me off.

Popmart was good though. Mofo kicked ass but I especially liked the non-Pop songs.

  10. well guess what! i disagree!! ATYCLB/Elevation was where they got scared, lost their guts, pandered to all the people that stopped liking them in the 90's, went all tame and commercial and became much much less interesting.

which pretty much brings us up to the present day! i can't believe NLOTH was supposedly meant to be them going back to experimentation!?!?! (although i will say the 360 tour is a step in the right direction)
  11. Love love love...
