    ZooTv is The TOUR
  2. i'm always torn between joshua tree and zootv.

    loathe popmart sorry.
  3. Popmart is a very good tour for me .. it had lots of circumstances that played against it
anyway maybe its "big" fault is trying to repeat what is unrepeatable
  4. I feel like if the band had really stuck to their guns with PopMart (which for the record I loved) they could have gone in a completely different and interesting direction.
  5. I love popmart because it was the first time I attended an U2 show
  6. Love the album, but I saw PopMart at the big "O" in Montreal, one of the all time worst venues for a concert, so I think that took a lot away from what might have been a great show. The boys also had problems "connecting" with the crowd in that tomb, so that singel show for me is near the bottom with ZooTV Outside BCast as number uno.

So to contradict myself, saw Joshua Tree at the same venue, but it was my 1st U2 show ever and you never forget your first time so my failing memory is J-Tree was a better performance then Popmart at the same location.
  7. PopMart was a really weird tour for me. I downloaded a lot of the shows and I found that most of them were hit/miss. In fact, it's not only the various shows that were hit miss, but even various songs within the same gig were hit/miss. Take Mexico City, for example. I consider it to be one of the best gigs of the tour along with Leeds, Santiago, and Rotterdam. While I absolutely love most of the songs played at Mexico, I could not stand SBS played like that. The DVD was definitely NOT a representative of the tour as a whole, thankfully, because many shows were marred with terrible vocals and forgotten lyrics.

I felt that PopMart took the self deprecating, sarcastic mood from ZooTV way too far. While the performances were "good" they were not passionate at all, especially when compared to ZooTV before and Elevation after. The singular, notable exception to this statement is obviously the Sarajevo gig. This single gig is why I still consider PopMart to be an influential tour and not a complete bust as some harsher fans would state. The album had a few good jewels, but the majority of it did not really stick with me. My guess is that this is due to the fact that they rushed the album.

    Pop (album) 7/10
    PopMart:
Mexico City, Leeds, Santiago, Rotterdam: 8/10
    95% of the others: 6/10
Las Vegas: -10/10 (but hilarious to listen to)
    Sarajevo: 1000/10
